Front Row Challenge adds fuel to fire for Southern New Mexico Speedway's Fall Nationals

LAS CRUCES, N.M.-The 15th Annual USRA Fall Nationals presented by Barnett Harley-Davidson is set for Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Oct. 17-19, at the Southern New Mexico Speedway in Las Cruces, N.M., and this year's USRA Modified main event winner could walk away with as much as $25,000.

Saturday's finale fill dole out at least $10,000 to the winner and $1,000 to each main event starter. However, if there are 51-75 cars at the event, the money goes up to $12,000 to win and $1,200 to start. A field of 76-100 cars pushes it up to $15,000 to win and $1,500 to start, and if 100 or more cars and drivers are in competition, the winners gets $15,000 while every driver taking the green flag earns at least $2,000.

As if that weren't enough, Mesilla Valley Transportation is sponsoring the Front Row Challenge for the first time in the 15-year history of the mega-event. Both front row starters in Saturday's A-Main will have the opportunity to start at the back of the field for $25,000 to win.

Heat race passing points will be used to determine main event lineups the first two nights. The top five finishers in Thursday's A-Main advance to the inside row of Saturday's A-Main and the top 5 in Friday's A-Main to outside row of Saturday's A-Main.

Stormy Scott is the defending champion of the event. Other past winners include Terry Phillips (2012) Jason Cummins (2011), Rodney Sanders (2010), Johnny Scott (2009), Eddie Martin (2005-07), Ron Jones (2000-01, 2004), Monte Bolton (2003) and Royal Jones (2002).

The event will also feature USRA B-Mods going wheel to wheel for $5,000 to win Saturday night. Drivers may compete under the local X-Mod rules package or USRA B-Mod rules package.

Also on the racing card will be Street Stocks racing for $300, $300 and $500 to win, respectively, and Casa Nissan Legends Cars which battle for $1,000 to win Saturday night.

The event will be a USRA national points race each night for the USRA Modifieds and USRA B-Mods/X-Mods.

Entry forms are available on the Southern New Mexico Speedway website at www.snmspeedway.com or the USRA website at www.usraracing.com under the Downloads tab.
