Season Championships This Saturday at Plymouth Speedway

By: Anita Soltis

(Plymouth, IN) It’s time to crown champions in the four divisions of racing at Plymouth Speedway.

Drivers in the Dickies Restaurant 600 Sprints, Swan Lake Resorts UMP Modifieds, Super Streets, and Thunder Stocks have worked hard all season for this night. While three of the four division’s top spots have been decided, that won’t mean that the battle for the positions in the rest of the standings won’t be any less heated. The Thunder Stock division will be decided in this Saturday’s feature at the Playground of Power.

The Warsaw Hall of Fame presentations, sponsored by Sparkman Auto Sales of Warsaw, are planned during the intermission of this weekend’s action. This Saturday, stock car drivers Jerry Baker, Tom Beezley, Jim Bucher, Bruce Hogue, Art Leiter, Alan Marsh, Ron McKenzie, Don Prater and John White will honored. Art Smith, Dick Leiter and Lore Lee Sherman will be posthumously honored.

Just because the season is coming to a close that doesn’t mean all racing activity will stop on the track for the year. In October, the World Series of Dirt is planned with the Sprints on Dirt Series (SODS) season championships, plus the Swan Lake Resort UMP Modifieds, Super Streets, Thunder Stocks, and Dickies Restaurant 600 Sprints. Practice will be on Oct. 3 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and admission is free. Racing will be on Oct. 4 with hot laps at 2 p.m. and racing at 5 p.m. ET.

We’ll see you this Saturday for the season championships!
