NickHolt
Mason Teague, David Webster, Michael Dabney, Jr, notch twin wins at Houston Motorsports Park’s “Double Double NASCAR Night” Houston, TX (August 18, 2014) – Texas racers know it’s tough to win a feature at Houston Motorsports Park and twice as difficult to win both features on a “Double Double NASCAR Night” at the 3/8-mile paved/concrete oval. But in spite of the odds, NASCAR American Muscle Car driver David Webster pulled of the feat this past Saturday as did NASCAR BWFS Coke Truck driver Mason and Legend hot-shoe Michael Dabney. NASCAR American Muscle Car driver David Webster pulled off the clean sweep over an increasingly competitive AMCAR field in spite of the fact that HMP track owner and former Formula One driver Graham Baker crossed the finish line first in the second AMCAR feature. Baker’s brand new NASCAR AMCAR Camaro was found to be a few pounds light during the post-race tech inspection and Webster was awarded the win. Webster was driving the same Dale Sheen Camaro that propelled him to victory circle two weeks ago rather than his own AMCAR that has pretty much dominated the division over the past couple of seasons. “In the first race (“Mitchell Motorsports 20”) I was pretty confident I would win until towards the end of the race when my carburetor started flooding and my own #31 car driven by Ed Nastasi was on my tail,” the England-born Webster said. “The second race (“TFE Company 20”) I started at the back and had to work my way up to the front, passing my own #31 for second, the 45 year-old explained. “I finally got up to Graham Baker with about five laps to go and waited for him to make a mistake. But he didn't, so I tried to pass him on the outside for the win. But he edged me out at the finish line by a few inches.” “I was quite content to have a photo finish for second behind Mr. Baker, especially since Graham is a former Formula 1 driver and all around great race car driver,” Webster philosophized. “But unfortunately he was bumped in tech for being a little too light.” NASCAR American Muscle Cars "Mitchell Motorsports 20" results 1. 6 David Webster 20 laps2. 31 Ed Nastasi 203. 53 Roger Hellman 204. 07 Tommy Page, Jr 205. 28 Dale Demski 206. 1 Graham Baker 207. 8 Ed Thompson 208. 15 Zach Nesloney 199. 3 Bradley Hellman 1910. 11 Mark Stevens 1811. 02 John Cornish 17 NASCAR American Muscle Cars "TFE Company 20" results 1. 6 David Webster 20 laps 2. 31 Ed Nastasi 203. 53 Roger Hellman 204. 07 Tommy Page, Jr 205. 28 Dale Demski 206. 8 Ed Thompson 197. 3 Bradley Hellman 198. 15 Zach Nesloney 199. 1 Graham Baker 20 (DQ - too light) Not to be outdone, Mason Teague, who has been on a tear in his white Kies Solutions NASCAR BWFS Coke Truck this season, simply out-drove and out-muscled the very tough competition in truck division in both the ”Coca-Cola 30” and the “BWFS Industries 30.” “It felt great to be the first NASCAR BWFS Coke Truck to win both features on a double-feature night at HMP,” the 25 year-old from Buda, Texas, said. “There's a lot of competition in the truck class and you never know what might happen. But our goal for the Kies Solutions team is to put the truck up front every weekend instead of looking at the points. We’re not chasing a championship. We just want to keep winning races and, like my dad says, where it falls, it falls.” NASCAR BWFS Coke Trucks "Coca-Cola 30" results 1. 162 Mason Teague 30 laps2. 58 Charles Evans, Jr 303. 13 David Webster 304. 16 Jake French 305. 50 Travis Benson 306. 06 Dale Sheen 307. 77 Cole Miller 298. 55 John Winne 299. 53 Mike Coursey 2310. 15 Mark Lindley 2311. 12 Justin Paul Steiner 10 NASCAR BWFS Coke Trucks "BWFS Industries 30" results 1. 162 Mason Teague 30 laps2. 58 Charles Evans, Jr 303. 16 Jake French 304. 12 Justin Paul Steiner 305. 50 Travis Benson 306. 13 David Webster 307. 53 Mike Coursey 308. 06 Dale Sheen 309. 55 John Winne 3010. 77 Cole Miller 10 Michael Dabney, Jr, has won every Legends race he as entered this season at HMP. And the streak continued Saturday as he made it look easy in winning both the “Harvey Racing 25” and the “B&R Industries 25.” Hunter Lewis did his best to put the pressure on Dabney, but in the end it was not enough. The 25 year old Crandall, Texas, native credits his team for his success. “Team work has been a big key to our success this year,” Dabney said. “We work day in and day out on making all of our cars at BAMF Motorsports the best they can possibly be. When we put our heads together and receive all the feedback from not only me, but from all of our other drivers it really helps us out as a whole.” Legends "Harvey Racing 25" results 1. 50 Michael Dabney,Jr 26 laps2. 7 Hunter Lewis 263. 27 Colin Lynch 264. 16 Coby Henslee 265. 800 Tyson Goudy 266. 81 Christopher Hogan 267. 66 Andrew Johnson 268. 96 Ethan McMillon 259. 308 DeWayne Irwin 2510. 45 Curtis Irwin 2511. 24 James Call 2412. 63 Brad Harden 2413. 95 David Harvey 2214. 14 Roger Williams 2215. 357 Matthew Barnard 016. 18 Cam Mitchell 017. 6 Jake Thomasson 018. 55 Blake Mixon 0 Legends "B&R Industries 25" results 1. 50 Michael Dabney, Jr 25 laps2. 7 Hunter Lewis 253. 16 Coby Henslee 254. 357 Matthew Barnard 255. 66 Andrew Johnson 256. 96 Ethan McMillon 257. 308 DeWayne Irwin 258. 6 Jake Thomasson 259. 27 Colin Lynch 2510. 45 Curtis Irwin 2411. 24 James Call 2312. 63 Brad Harden 2213. 14 Roger Wiliams 2214. 800 Tyson Goudy 1915. 81 Christopher Hogan 216. 95 David Harvey 2 In the top-of-the-line NASCAR Fiesta Modifieds, up-and-coming driver Clayton Green and multi-time track champion Joe Aramendia split the twin 40-lap features with Aramendia holding off a determined Michael Kourkoubes in the “The World’s Supermarket 40” and Green beating point-leader Zach Knowles to the checkered in the “Fiesta Mart 40.” NASCAR Fiesta Modifieds "Fiesta Mart 40" results 1. 54 Clayton Green 40 laps2. 51 Zach Knowles 403. 72 Johnny Walker 404. 79 Joe Aramendia 405. 4 Michael Kourkoubes 406. 50 Brian Moczygemba 407. 03 Donny Kelley 408. 13 Ian Webster 409. 6 Wayne Wappes 3910. 88 Larry Hughes 3911. 33 Jason Morman 3612. 18 DL Wilson 613. 32 Jason Otts 1 NASCAR Fiesta Modifieds "The World's Supermarket 40" results 1. 79 Joe Aramendia 41 laps2. 4 Michael Kourkoubes 413. 51 Zach Knowles 414. 50 Brian Mocygemba 415. 13 Ian Webster 416. 03 Donny Kelley 417. 33 Jason Morman 418. 88 Larry Hughes 409. 6 Wayne Wappes 4010. 32 Jason Otts 4011. 54 Clayton Green 3912. 72 Johnny Walker 3713. 5 Garrett Lancaster 3714. 18 DL Wilson 0 Ian Webster, who is the older brother of David Webster, took the win in the first Eco Stock 15-lap feature over Daniel Bartholomew while Bartholomew reversed the results in the second feature. Khoneycutt
Kaden Honeycutt was close in the Bandolero. Led laps in the first feature and had an issue with getting around a lapped car while leading the race. Very close to the double feature win.
