Teague, Webster, Dabney notch twin wins at HMP's Double Double

Mason Teague, David Webster, Michael Dabney, Jr, notch twin wins at Houston Motorsports Park’s “Double Double NASCAR Night”

Houston, TX (August 18, 2014) – Texas racers know it’s tough to win a feature at Houston Motorsports Park and twice as difficult to win both features on a “Double Double NASCAR Night” at the 3/8-mile paved/concrete oval. But in spite of the odds, NASCAR American Muscle Car driver David Webster pulled of the feat this past Saturday as did NASCAR BWFS Coke Truck driver Mason and Legend hot-shoe Michael Dabney.

NASCAR American Muscle Car driver David Webster pulled off the clean sweep over an increasingly competitive AMCAR field in spite of the fact that HMP track owner and former Formula One driver Graham Baker crossed the finish line first in the second AMCAR feature.

Baker’s brand new NASCAR AMCAR Camaro was found to be a few pounds light during the post-race tech inspection and Webster was awarded the win.

Webster was driving the same Dale Sheen Camaro that propelled him to victory circle two weeks ago rather than his own AMCAR that has pretty much dominated the division over the past couple of seasons.

“In the first race (“Mitchell Motorsports 20”) I was pretty confident I would win until towards the end of the race when my carburetor started flooding and my own #31 car driven by Ed Nastasi was on my tail,” the England-born Webster said.

“The second race (“TFE Company 20”) I started at the back and had to work my way up to the front, passing my own #31 for second, the 45 year-old explained. “I finally got up to Graham Baker with about five laps to go and waited for him to make a mistake. But he didn't, so I tried to pass him on the outside for the win. But he edged me out at the finish line by a few inches.”

“I was quite content to have a photo finish for second behind Mr. Baker, especially since Graham is a former Formula 1 driver and all around great race car driver,” Webster philosophized. “But unfortunately he was bumped in tech for being a little too light.”

Not to be outdone, Mason Teague, who has been on a tear in his white Kies Solutions NASCAR BWFS Coke Truck this season, simply out-drove and out-muscled the very tough competition in truck division in both the ”Coca-Cola 30” and the “BWFS Industries 30.”

“It felt great to be the first NASCAR BWFS Coke Truck to win both features on a double-feature night at HMP,” the 25 year-old from Buda, Texas, said. “There's a lot of competition in the truck class and you never know what might happen. But our goal for the Kies Solutions team is to put the truck up front every weekend instead of looking at the points. We’re not chasing a championship. We just want to keep winning races and, like my dad says, where it falls, it falls.”

Michael Dabney, Jr, has won every Legends race he as entered this season at HMP. And the streak continued Saturday as he made it look easy in winning both the “Harvey Racing 25” and the “B&R Industries 25.” Hunter Lewis did his best to put the pressure on Dabney, but in the end it was not enough.

The 25 year old Crandall, Texas, native credits his team for his success.

“Team work has been a big key to our success this year,” Dabney said. “We work day in and day out on making all of our cars at BAMF Motorsports the best they can possibly be. When we put our heads together and receive all the feedback from not only me, but from all of our other drivers it really helps us out as a whole.”
