August Racing to Heat up Plymouth Speedway

by Anita Soltis

(Plymouth, IN) The season may be drawing to a close in August, but the next few weeks will be the height of the schedule at the Playground of Power.

Jamie Lomax and Jacob Poel are sitting atop the National UMP Modified standings and they will be battling for the right to be at the top in action this Saturday at Plymouth Speedway. The pair are only separated by a few points in the standings. Jamie Lomax has won the last four races at Plymouth Speedway in the Swan Lake Resorts UMP Modifieds Division. Can Jacob Poel upset Lomax’s winning streak at Lomax’s home track and move up the national standings?

The race begins at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday with the Thunder Stocks, Super Streets and Dickies Restaurant 600 Sprints also running on the fastest dirt track in Northern Indiana.

Drivers in the UMP Dirt Super Late Models are coming to Plymouth Speedway for the only time this year on Saturday, Aug. 9 and NASCAR driver Tony Stewart will be racing in the Bob Newton Hoosier Tire Classic on Aug. 16. Tickets for the Bob Newton Hoosier Tire Classic are now available online at www.plymouthspeedway.net. Stewart is making a comeback after suffering a serious leg injury in Sprint car last year and is looking confident to take on the field at Plymouth Speedway. Will he get back into a groove with a win at the Playground of Power?

The season championships are set for Aug. 23.

Come along for the ride!
