Presented by COMP Cams: Double Header Race Results

 

 

 

MILLINGTON, Tenn. (June 23, 104) - The Summit Bracket Racing Series presented by COMP Cams had a double header weekend at Memphis International Raceway as drivers battled for class victories on Saturday and Sunday. Also, a special Stock/ Super Stock Combo race was added to the schedule to provide additional excitement for the sportsman racers.

 

 

 

Cliff Hubbard from Millington, Tenn. swept the weekend in the R.T. Turbines D.O.T. Street class and, in the R.T. Turbines Jr. Dragster class, Devin Johnson took the win on Saturday and followed it up by winning the Second Chance Shootout on Sunday. Rusty Ashmore from Southhaven, Miss. and Cody Graham came out the big winners over the weekend as Ashmore took over the point lead in Rick's Powder Coating Super Pro class and Graham jumped four spots to lead the B&B Towing Footbrake class.

 

 

 

"This weekend was more stellar drag racing at Memphis International Raceway," stated Tyler Crossnoe, Drag Strip Manager. "There was plenty of racing excitement with the Summit Bracket Series presented by COMP Cams and with the Stock/ Super Stock Combo races. The points battle is exciting to watch right now as we're getting closer and closer to the World's Finals."

R.T. Turbines Jr. Dragsters

 

 

 

Devin Johnson from Collierville, Tenn. took the win over the Motorvation Motorsports entry, driven by Drew Mann Tracey. Johnson recorded a .054 reaction time and a winning time of 12.103 at 54.36 m.p.h. off his 12.08 dial-in as Tracey posted a .050 reaction time and a 9.436 elapsed time off a 9.40 dial-in. Layna Tracey, also from Motorvation Motorsports, took home the semi-final finish.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

R.T. Turbines Jr. Dragsters Second Chance Shootout

 

 

 

Breanna Bemister from Bloomfield, Mo. took home the win in R.T. Turbines Jr. Dragster Second Chance Shootout over Millington, Tenn.'s Brianna Moore. Bemister won in a double breakout race as she broke out with a 7.959 off a 7.96 dial-in as Moore was 7.928 off her 7.96 dial-in.

 

 

 

 

 

B&B Towing Footbrake

 

 

 

Cody Graham from Marion, Ark. took the win in B&B Towing Footbrake with teammate, Bradly Sanders from Henning, Tenn., coming in runner-up. Graham posted a .042 reaction time and ran a 6.638 elapsed time at 103.09 m.p.h. as his Steady Stackin' Motorsports teammate turned on the redlight by .003 of second. Caffey Broadus was the lone semi-finalist as Danny Scheele and Matt Anderson round out the quarter-finals.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Rick's Powder Coating Super Pro

 

 

 

Rusty Ashmore from Southaven, Miss. took down all challengers and took over the points lead in the "Chase to the Championship" with his victory in Rick's Powder Coating Super Pro on Saturday night over Paragould, Ark.'s Stacy Tritch. Ashmore took the victory with a .020 reaction time and running dead-on his 6.30 dial-in with a 6.309 second run at 108.73 m.p.h. Tritch broke out in his dragster, running a 4.918 off his 4.96 dial-in. Mark Meadows from Beech Grove, AR and Kenny Pease from Dyersburg, TN brought home semi-final finishes while Jesse Bobo, Jason Ferrell and Tyler Roach round out the money earners in the quarter-final round.

 

 

 

 

 

R.T. Turbines D.O.T. Street

 

 

 

Cliff Hubbard from Millington, Tenn. took home the win in R.T. Turbines D.O.T. Street against Covington, Tenn.'s David Elam. Hubbard posted a stellar .006 reaction time and ran 15.132 off his 15.11 dial-in to defeat the hard-charging Nova of Elam's 9.505 pass at over 142 m.p.h. Jeremy Foree brought home a semi-finalist finish, as well.

 

 

 

 

 

Stock/Super Stock

 

 

 

Amy Faulk from Collierville, Tenn. took home the victory in her '99 Firebird over Kenny Bomar's 2nd Hand Power sponsored '69 Camaro. Faulk was .052 on the tree with a 10.227 elapsed time off her 10.20 dial-in, while Bomar broke out at 10.472 elapsed time off his 10.50 dial-in. Ronnie Charnes was the lone semi-finalist in the SS/S Combo.

R.T. Turbines Jr. Dragsters

 

 

 

Justin Poindexter from Millington, Tenn. found his way back to the winner's circle in R.T. Turbines Jr. Dragsters with a win over Tara Taylor from Somerville, Tenn. Poindexter was .020 on the tree with a 8.017 elapsed time off a 8.00 dial-in as Taylor was .087 on the tree but ran dead on her 7.95 dial-in with a 7.950 pass but it just wasn't enough. Breanna Bemister from Bloomfield, Mo. took home a semi-final finish.

 

 

 

 

R.T. Turbines Jr. Dragsters Second Chance Shootout

 

 

Devin Johnson from Collierville, Tenn. landed in the Winner's Circle for a second time over the weekend as he took the win in the R.T. Turbines Jr. Dragster Second Chance Shootout over Devan Lowe. Johnson was .056 on the tree with a 12.093 elapsed time off his 12.04 dial-in at 54.55 m.p.h., Lowe was .146 on the tree and had issues, only running a 8.578 elapsed time off his 7.94 dial-in.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

B&B Towing Footbrake

 

 

 

John Castellaw III from Dyersburg, Tenn. took home the event victory in B&B Towing Footbrake on Sunday over Olive Branch, Miss.'s Caffey Broadus. Castellaw was .041 on the tree in the finals and ran a 6.352 off a 6.32 dial-in while Broadus was .065 on the tree and ran a 6.218 off his 6.19 dial-in. Tommy Jackson, II brought home a semi-final finish as John Williams and Cody Graham round out the money earners with finishes in the quarter-finals.

 

 

 

 

 

Rick's Powder Coating Super Pro

 

 

 

Brad Barclay from Henderson, Tenn. took home the event win on Rick's Powder Coating Super Pro over Stacy Tritch, making it to back-to-back final rounds in his Paragould, Ark. based dragster. Barclay went .009 on the tree and ran a 5.009 elapsed time on his 4.99 dial-in at over 137 m.p.h. while Tritch had a .021 reaction time with a 4.955 off his 4.93 dial-in. JR Barclay was the lone semi-finalist while Reggie Glenn, Michael Hall and Mark Meadows recorded quarter-final finishes.

 

 

 

 

 

R.T. Turbines D.O.T. Street

 

 

 

Cliff Hubbard swept the weekend in the R.T. Turbines D.O.T. Street class from Millington, Tenn. in his 2011 Infiniti with a .050 reaction time and ran dead on his 15.11 dial-in with a 15.119 at 87.57 m.p.h. over David Elam's breakout run of 9.502 off his 9.52 dial-in. Greg Johnson was the semi-finalist for the afternoon with his '82 S10 pickup.

 

 

 

 

 

Stock/Super Stock

 

 

Steve Wilson from Collierville, Tenn. took the event win in the SS/S Combo with a .012 reaction time and a 10.767 elapsed time run off his 10.74 dial-in to defeat Don Cossey's '64 Plymouth from Memphis with his 11.385 run off his 11.36 dial-in. Randy Eakins from Sikeston, Mo. and Larry Hill from Hickory, Ky. took home semi-final finishes.

Entry fees are based on class and admission is $10 for crew and spectators. Children 12 and under get in for FREE.
