sos races

thank you sos for a place to race really enjoyed first race back have some adjustments to make and hopefully back next race,also keep up good work looks like it paying off pretty consistent car count this year also glad to see tech checking cars way to go also when a question on tech comes up good to see tech guy and keith clarify this is a step in right direction just glad what i had what was correct had me worried for few minutes..great job s.o.s.

I wouldn't say they are clear or on the same page, tech guys tell us one thing and Keith tells us another and one tech guy even says he has the right to overrule Keith. All I want is a firm decision and the same answer from everyone.

rules say if not in rules its not legal also i was told just build car around rules posted and try not find grey area and if not sure ask and we should be ok all i can say from my experience in purestock the cars that have been caught this year and last year was legit finds and if i were to guess i bet they will catch others that is cheating if they are this is just good for class..

From my knowledge the only motors checked at SOS have been the 32w and the 32 cars and the 48c and the 02 cars...if im wrong tell me when the others have been checked...when the 32's motor was check they should have checked all tech ed cars that night not just the 32...and what happened to the protest rule!!! Put up the money dont listen to the complaints and then tech that part...I feel you should have a list of parts and follow that list throughout the year and ONLY the tech people know it....but overall the tech is going well but check all cars not just one...

I don't know anything that has gone on at SOS but the tracks I've been too usually tech the top 3 or top 5 and they check the same thing or announce in drivers meeting what they will check. If you go more in depth on one car, have the drivers draw a chip to see what position will be teched thoroughly. That's just what I've seen in the past excluding big money races when several cars are teched thoroughly.

Teching all cars requires staffing that most short tracks cannot afford. It also takes a bunch of time which means the pay window will be delayed beyond where most folks would like - especially those traveling a great distance.

 

Most tracks that I'm aware of tech a few cars - usually the top three, sometimes just the winner - and have a protest rule that requires a significant amount of money up front to keep the petty protests to a minimum.

 

And it is entirely within reason for a track to tech the cars that seem to have an unfair advantage over the rest. That's why you frequently hear complaints from the front runners about being "over-teched." I would consider it a compliment if I found my car being targeted for "extra" scrutiny - unless, of course, I knew there were certain "questionable" things on my car. LOL

 

I know I'm dreaming here, but Texas racers should have enough integrity to make sure their cars are legal before bringing it to the track. None of us are really running for the money (and if you are, you might want to take up gambling where your odds of actually making money are better), but rather for the glory. There is no real satisfaction in winning when you know you are cheating. Sure, you may look like a hero to others, but when you put your cheating head down on that pillow at night, you know you cheated. I guess some can live with that knowledge, but I'd much rather go to sleep knowing I won fair and square.

its says nothing in the rules about shackles but it says can run lowering blocks will make the can handle the same don't see what the big deal is 4 DRIVERS in my car 4 wins I think if they cant beat it on the track lets find something in tech so we are going to set out next race an let some one take the flag the right way quick crying an go home an work on your car

Every racer knows whether they are cheating or not.

 

If you're not cheating and loosing, work harder, study suspension theory, pay attention to details... work harder. You're already a winner in my book.

 

If you're not cheating and winning, you're a winner on the track and a winner in life. Others look up to you and measure themselves by your standards.

 

If you're cheating and losing, you're a looser. Quit cheating. You'll feel better about yourself even in defeat.

 

If you're cheating and winning, you're a total looser and you know it.

I don't know when it was said that the tech guys could over rule Keith but that defiantly did not come out of my mouth and the idea about telling the driver what the tech guys will be looking for prior to the races in the drivers meeting is a good idea and will be brought up at the next races!

you are correct it says lowering blocks are allowed on leaf spring cars, it also says no! modifications allowed to shock parts, so that would probably be why they said the shackles with multiple holes is not legal.

that would allow a driver to make adjustments at the track,don't stay home, fix what they don't like and come race, show everyone that the shackles had nothing to do with the 4 wins. Last time out was a awesome race between the 2-32 cars and the 67L, I just wish I hadn't got taken out in the second lap by a over confident driver, had to set in the infield and watch a race I believe I had a chance of winning or at least top 3.

What do the rear shackles have to do with the shocks?

my bad misspelled ( stock parts) thanks for catching my error! rules say no modification to STOCK suspension parts was all I was trying to say. I must be the first person on here to ever misspell a word thanks for jumping right in there to help correct my spelling.

i dont know of any track that tells racers what they are gonna tech how funny though i guess this could give people chance to go and correct before feature i think best not to say

That's the risky side of it. But if someone suddenly parks their car then you know something's up. I'm not sure if anyone does it now, but have seen it done in the past. Here's another idea, put together a list of commonly and easily teched things to check and when the top 3 or 5 or how many ever get teched, those drivers pick a chip or roll some dice to see what gets checked. Of course it shouldn't be an issue since everyone is legal right lol.

I put no stock in stock shocks or stock parts. In fact, I sold all my stock in stock shocks and stock parts. Instead, I'm stocking up on socks, short shorts, stock storks and stacks of short shirts.

 

I don't want to sound short, but shucks...

with those words you could cuss a white boy out and he wouldnt know what the hell your talking about (lol)

 

but on side note your police department in cuero at this time i bet is using all them words and more after what was put in paper, we may be using streets this weekend to race on may not be law enforcer one left ( chingau or how ever the hell you spell it ) i bet ole blue is looking these words up

 

The next race they teching them you know bucket deals thats up under roof you know they sit on floor board down low up under.....

(lol) there would be a couple of us get ran out in short shorts maybe the protesters will come with picket signs and short shorts on hopefully no chingaleda be illegal or showing...
