Could you post them, I use to cheer J.D. on at Altus Speedway from 1977 to the mid 1980's !!! , Thanks " UPDATED " Added still shots I took off of a 8mm movie of JD HUGHES winning a race at SOONER INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY in the early 1980's !!! ( 2 ) More Pictures my dad took I think in the early 1980's , JD on the scales at Altus Speedway after a Win, This wasn't JD's standard purple colored car. Not sure what color to call it ! I'm the kid with the black cap to the right of the group in the picture of JD setting in the car. My brother found the photo slides in a suitcase my our dad kept most of his pictures & slides in. I believe this was a sunday afternoon race after a Sat. night rain out. I hope my brother finds the pictures my dad took at a car wash on Falcon Rd in Altus. Ya'll had just washed the car and my dad was taking pictures of it on your hauler. You told my dad you would take the car off to get better pictures , they dont come better than you JD ! txtom Posted October 6, 2013 Report Share Posted October 6, 2013 Here are a few I have real quick; the 33 is Hughes in Jim Carter's car at San Antonio in 1985. I remember JD driving that 33 car at Altus Speedway or across the highway at Sooner International Raceway I think. This is the car we qualified at Sooner right beside JD and his other car driven by his buddy form Dallas took us out of the mix. It is also the car we ran with him in Phoenix qualified 13th beside Bobby Allison and finished 7th, JD won the race. I seem to remember that car , I was like 14. FlatBlack84 Posted January 12, 2017 Report Share Posted January 12, 2017 By the by, the car J.D. used to run at Lubbock's Arena Park Raceways in the 70s was a yellow and purple No. 41 Camaro.
