The countdown is on to October 19th for the rescheduled 2013 Aaron Hudgeons Limited Modified Memorial Race. With more time to plan, more work is underway. This is the 4th year for this event and it has grown in intensity each year. Aaron Hudgeons was a huge fan favorite in both modifieds and limited mods.

Two key items center around this significant event in memory of one of the most beloved and best shoes in Texas. First, is the race itself, which brings in big name drivers for this one night event who are racing for the big dollars on the line. The second item of importance is the funding for the Aaron Hudgeons Memorial Scholarship Fund for college bound high school seniors. The scholarship fund awards $500 scholarships through a scholarship committee.

We will keep this thread updated and we have several things we want to cover with this post.

1. Texana Raceway Park is proud to announce that we are donating $1,500 directly to the Aaron Hudgeons Memorial Scholarship Fund on the night of October 19th. This will fund three scholarships and we are proud and honored to have the opportunity to make this contribution in the memory of someone who meant so much to Texana Raceway Park.

2. Sponsor interest towards the guaranteed purse is building. There are contributors to the actual scholarship fund and we are also building the sponsors for the race itself in support of the purse. The sponsor list will grow. Sponsors, as of this writing, for the race purse are:

Hoefling Racing - The Hoefling's are regular limited mod competitors at Texana Raceway Park and anyone who missed the finish last Saturday between Shane Hoefling and JJ Jennings missed one for the memory books. Close, close.

Hudgeons Body and Paint - Kurt (Aaron's dad) and Sandra (Aaron's step-mom) have been longtime supporters of Texana Raceway Park and we are proud to host this event in Aaron's memory.

Ken Bulsterbaum (Independent Advocare Distributor Ken is the owner / operator of Texana Raceway Park and sponsoring part of this purse as an Advocare Distributor. Ask Ken about Advocare.

Rhino Racing Rear Ends (Eddie Tabor) is sponsoring $100 to the hard charger. Eddie builds strong racing rear ends for racers across Texas

Earl Baxter, owner of 41 Shocks is sponsoring a hard charger award for any classes running this event with a $50 gift certificate

Seals Racing owned by Randy "Bubba" Seals has signed on as a sponsor for this event. are these the only 2 classes running on this night.

Yes this will be the only two classes running that weekend. Expecting at least 100 cars.

Some of the best drivers are coming! From Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma too. May get a couple from Arkansas. Going to be a great night.

I was thinking it would be a normal entry fee for street stocks. But not sure.

Ken says it is normal fee for Street Stocks at this event. That is $50 and will cover raceceiver rental.

So, in summary, the following are the fees on the 19th:

Limiteds: $100 which covers race fee, pit pass for driver and transponder rental

Street Stocks: $50 which covers race fee, pit pass for driver and transponder rental

Pit Passes for everyone else: $25

**Practice on Friday is $25 per person in pits and free in general admission**

**If other questions, I will try to help answer thru Tuesday. I am heading out of state Wednesday and will be back just in time for the race on Saturday evening, so Ken will monitor forum as he can and answer any questions from Wed forward** Remember also, practice on Friday is available. I know also that Ken post any important information on LSSZ as the forecast this week looks to be challenging and that may have a bearing on plans, so stay tuned on here for information as the week progresses.
