top_shelf_12
What brought this rule on all of a sudden? Just wondering, all the points championships are pretty much locked up and wouldn't running without mirrors be a safety concern to some extent? Digger
Let see how it all works out. It is something to build on. I think it will make some difference to the fast cars by making them race every lap a bit harder. If you are slow it will not matter much unless you drive a different line every lap. This is where it gets a bit hairy, If a driver knows where the one in front of him runs he should be able find the right place to pass. If you have a ill handling car and all over the track it will make it tough to pass. Drivers will have to be up on the wheel a bit more than normal. They will have to watch flagman if they are a back marker because they can not see the leaders coming. It is no magic bullet , Fast is fast and slow is slow. You will not get any more HP, OK maybe a Lb of weight out of the car might help. It might cause a few problems but no more than mirrors and radios. Just think of it as a test and see what happens. Owen is looking at different ideas and wanted to see how it goes.
MadRacing19
Where does it say no radios or mirrors ? I just looked and I thought it said mirrors manditory.
MadRacing19
OK It must be the big green flashing print. OWEN , you got plenty of duct tape?
CAM Racing
Taking the mirrors out is done at most dirt tracks any way ...... So for the ones who have run dirt before this shouldnt be a problem for them. Well Done Owen
racin4fun
Don't know why it was not tested at the start of the season when it was suggested but oh well. I am glad to see them do it. We have no mirror in our car and has not had one for a few races now, no big deal, drive in front of you not behind you lol. Good luck all. racin4fun
As far as what brought it up again, I think it was the Thunder race but I could be wrong. JMO.
Crewcheif21,73
im not sure what bought it up either but i herd it was several things. im fine with it either way in the thunder class, there not gonna move for you 90% of the time. guess its time to use the front bumper. top_shelf_12
It's not like that's too different for some of those drivers eh ? You're right though, it's time to use the chrome horn. And most of the time they don't move out of the way unless you let them know that you're there. Mr. Pittman, are you going to get mad when the lap cars get spun out by the leaders when they don't get out of the way? It would have been nice to see this done earlier in the year when the points were still pretty close. Now they're pretty much wrapped up except for the bombers. It's still be fun to watch this season and Owen and your crew have done a good job this season. Thank You from the fans point of view.
racin4fun
Well I am not sure about getting to punt lap cars but you will have to be able to pass them on the out side or be stuck behind them. lol. I don't think lead cars will want to get sent to the back for punting a lap car but, you never know out there. lol
slysnake
Damn! You mean I gotta take my $5.99 mirrors out of the car!!?? I spent alot of time rigging that thing up...you know, adjustments, critical angles, line of sight adjustments, extensive & exhaustive research and countless hours of cleaning! This should be fun! direct-flo
maybe the cars can install kill switches, If a driver gets rowdy, the flagman can hit the kill switch----motor stops, and to the infield you go.. BUT-without the mirrors, how will one see when they can move down the track.. j/k TomH aka: Tom H
slysnake
That's a great idea Tom! Just like fun trackers...get too wild...off with your motor for awhile & then back on! I wondering how some are going to do without their safety blanket...uh...radios.. Rick
CAM Racing
I wondering how some are going to do without their safety blanket...uh...radios.. Yes I do to.... especially in the bomber class 1 of the top 3 cars use radios and the points are pretty close. Should make for some intresting racing no doubt
poorboy
Shutting somebodys motor off is about the stupedist thing I have ever heard, I hope you were joking. And for everyone out there if I have a flat and destroy your car trying to get to the infeild it isn't my problem, I couldn't see you. They need to get rid of the radios and keep mirrors. slysnake
Tim, Referring to to all, but mainly SS & bombers, since those classes have the most cars running radios, but take it how you want. However, overall, a good night with good racing from everyone. Glad there were no major wrecks. Everybody played nice! EJ & I were talking, it would have been a nightmare if the track had inverted & we all had to start in the back and try to make it through the traffic. Again, glad it worked out. slysnake
poorboy, all in jest...take a chill pill. BTW, if I was behind you & you had a flat, I wouldn't let you hit me...I would be watching.
Crewcheif21,73
o no im not taking it the wrong way.i just think there is to many people cryin about radios. maybe if they would do what we did and go look for SPONCERSHIP they would get some radios. thats all we did went in and ask and got it. it was an awsome night. ej went out there to try and rap things up. it has been a fun year and hope it continues just without the stupid things i have pulled this year. and bobby knows he has to loose his attitude before racing next year or will cost him. slysnake
Tim, Main thing is most everyone kept tempers in check for what looked like a long night. To be finished by 10:30 -10:45pm!!?? Pretty good feat! The rain afterwards sucked...sobered me up too quick!!! Rick
racin4fun
No kidding Sly it was a good night. Not as many wrecks either. I don't think they should ever give the mirrors and radios back. And if you can not see the car in front of you has a flat and stay out of the way well then you need to get hit. Was a Great night all. Congrats to all who won.
j.j.&s.racing
i guess a lot of you have not raced any where other than c.c.. i use radios not to block but if you have a problem or some thing like that or not to move down on someone.but if that is the rules.
poorboy
Well Sly, I hope when you slam on your brakes to avoid me crossing over in front of you the guy behind you doesn't destroy your car on accident because he didn't know what the heck I was doing. Most of the dirt tracks that I know of have an exit to the outside of the track that allows you to get off the track. Don't say CC does also because it cannot be used during racing without causing major problems.
