GENERAL RULES:

1. THE RULES AND/OR REGULATIONS SET FORTH HEREIN DOES NOT EXPRESS OR IMPLY WARRANTY OF SAFETY, FROM PUBLICATION OF, OR COMPLIANCE WITH THESE RULES AND/OR REGULATIONS. THEY ARE INTENDED AS A GUIDELINE FOR THE CONDUCT OF THE SOUTHERN TEXAS LATE MODEL RACING SERIES, AND ARE IN NO WAY A GUARANTEE AGAINST INJURY TO PARTICIPANTS.

2. THESE RULES AND/OR REGULATIONS WILL APPLY TO ALL SOUYHERN TEXAS LATE MODEL RACING SERIES SANCTIONED EVENTS.

3. SOUTHERN TEXAS LATE MODEL RACING SERIES OFFICIALS SHALL HAVE FULL AUTHORITY OVER SAID SANCTIONED EVENTS, AND IN THE EVENT OF ANY DISPUTE, THE HEAD OFFICIAL'S DECISION WILL BE FINAL.

4. ALL ARE SUBJECT TO BE INSPECTED BY THE SOUTHERN TEXAS LATE MODEL RACING SERIES TECHNICAL INSPECTORS AT ANY TIME DURING THE EVENT.

5. THE SERIES RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CONFISCATE ANY SUSPICIOUS, OR DEEMED ILLEGAL, COMPONENTS.

6. THE SOUTHERN TEXAS LATE MODEL RACING SERIES RESERVES THE RIGHT TO ALTER OR AMEND THESE RULES AND/OR REGULATIONS IN THE INTERESTS OF FAIR COMPETTITION.

7. THE RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR TEXAS SUPER LATE MODEL RACING SERIES HAVE BEEN SANCTIONED AND APPROVED BY THE SOUTHERN TEXAS LATE MODEL RACING SERIES.

Weight Rules:

1. GM CRATE ENGINE 602 (88958602) AND GM CRATE ENGINE 604 (88958604) 2150 POUNDS AFTER RACE WITH DRIVER

2. ALL STEEL 362 CUBIC INCH MOTOR AND CT 525 (19171821) 2200 POUNDS AFTER RACE WITH DRIVER

3. SUPR SPEC MOTOR OR EQUIVALENT ALUMINUM OR STEEL BLOCK

2250 POUNDS AFTER RACE WITH DRIVER

4. OPEN MOTOR CATEGORY 1 (WETSUMP ALUMINUM HEAD MODIFIED MOTOR)

2300 POUNDS AFTER RACE WITH DRIVER

5. OPEN MOTOR CATEGORY 2 (DRY SUMP LATE MODEL MOTOR) 2400 POUNDS AFTER RACE WITH DRIVER

TWO TWENTY FIVE POUND WEIGHTS WILL BE PLACED IN FRONT OF THE MID

PLATE. ONE ON EACH SIDE OF THE MOTOR.MUST BE BOLTED ON FOR EASY REMOVAL.

MUST HAVE CAR # AND BE PAINTED WHITE. THESE WILL BE WEIGHED IN TECH.

 

 

 

 

RACERS WILL DETERMINE WHAT CATEGORY THEIR ENGINE GOES INTO AND MEET THE WEIGHT REQUIREMENTS ACCORDINGLY. IF IT DOES NOT FIT THE CUBIC INCH LIMIT IN OPTION 2 ON AN ALL STEEL MOTOR, THEN IT GOES INTO OPTION 4.

 

ATTACHED WEIGHT MUST BE SECURELY BOLTED TO FRAME WITH 1/2" OR LARGER BOLTS. WEIGHT MUST BE PAINTED WHITE WITH CAR NUMBER DISPLAYED. PENALTY FOR LOSING ATTACHED WEIGHT ON THE RACE TRACK IS DISQUALIFCATION FROM THE EVENT.

 

Spoiler Rules:

1. 12” SPOILER WITH SUPR LEGAL SPOILER SIDES MAY BE USED ONLY CRATE MOTORS

2. 10” SPOILER WITH SUPR LEGAL SIDES ON OPTION 2,3,4.

3. 8” SPOILER TO BE USED ON OPTION 5. MUST USE UDTRA TYPE SPOILER SIDES

Engine Rules:

1. GM PART NUMBER 88958602, GM PART NUMBER 88958604, ENGINES MUST BE SEALED WITH GM SEAL BOLTS, GM/RM SEAL BOLTS OR CRATE RACIN USA SEALS. OTHER SEALING SYSTEMS MAY BE USED, CONTACT FOR APPROVAL. REBUILT ENGINES MUST MEET GM, FASTRACK, AND CRATE RACIN USA REBUILD SPECIFICATIONS. GM SERIAL NUMBERS MUST BE CLEARLY VISIBLE. FAILURE TO MEET THESE SPECIFICATIONS WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION, FINES, AND POSSIBLE SUSPENSION, AT SERIES DISCRETION.

2. GM PART NUMBER 19171821 (CT525) IS ALLOWED, THIS IS A SEALED ENGINE FROM GM. ALL SEALS MUST BE INTACT AT ALL TIMES. NO ALTERING OR MODIFYING OF ENGINE IN ANY WAY.

 

3. SPEC MOTORS: SUPR OR EQUIVALENT MUST MEET THE RULES SET FORTH IN THEIR INTENDED SERIES APPLICATION. (We will look into any other engines that can fit into this category, for example IMCA, WISSOTA, and SAS spec motors) SPEC MOTORS: WILL BE INSPECTED ACCORDING TO SUPR/SAS ENGINE RULES, AND DETERMINED BY THE CASTINGS ON THE HEADS. IF YOU ARE RUNNING ONE YOU AND YOUR ENGINE BUILDER KNOW WHAT THE SPECIFICATIONS ARE MAKE SURE YOU MEET THEM. IF YOU ARE NOT SURE CONTACT THE SOUTHERN TEXAS LATE MODEL RACING SERIES FOR SPECIFICATIONS.

4. MODIFIED TYPE MOTORS I.E. OPTION 4 MUST BE WET SUMP AND STEEL BLOCK

5. UNSEALED CRATE ENGINES ARE AN OPTION. HOWEVER, THEY WILL RACE IN THE MODIFIED TYPE MOTOR (OPTION 4) WITH STEEL BLOCK, ALUMINUM HEADS AND WET SUMP.

ENGINE PROTEST AND CLAIM RULE:

1. GM 602, 604, & SAS/SUPR SPEC ENGINES MAY BE PROTESTED FOR A FEE OF $900. AN AMOUNT OF $200 WILL BE RETAINED BY THE SANCTIONING BODY AND THE REMAINING $700 WILL GO TO THE WINNER OF THE PROTEST. THE PROTESTER MUST FINISH IN THE TOP FIVE OF THE MAIN EVENT TO BE ELIGIBLE TO FILE A PROTEST.

2. THE CT 525 ENGINE IN A WINNING CAR MAY BE CLAIMED BY ANOTHER COMPETITOR THAT FINISHES IN THE TOP FIVE OF THE MAIN EVENT FOR $10,000, COMPLETE LESS CARBURETOR.

ENGINE SETBACK RULE:

1. ENGINE SETBACK WILL BE 6" FROM CENTER OF TOP BALL JOINT TO THE MOST FORWARD SPARK PLUG ON THE JIG-FRAME CAR WITH 1-INCH TOLLERANCE ON ENGINE SETBACK OR 25 ½” FROM MID PLATE TO CENTER OF BALL LEFT FRONT BALL JOINT. THERE WILL BE A 50 POUND PENALTY FORWARD OF THE MOTOR PLATE FOR EACH 1/2-INCH OF SET BACK BEYOND THE LIMITS SET ABOVE.

CARBURETOR RULES:

1. ONE FOUR-BARREL CARBURETOR ONLY OF ANY MANUFACTURE.

2. ENGINE MUST BE NATURALLY ASPIRATED. NO FUEL INJECTION SYSTEMS, OR TURBOS.

3. ANY SPACER ALLOWED. 604 CRATE MUST USE 1” MAX SPACER

IGNITION SYSTEM:

1. ANY ELECTRONIC IGNITION SYSTEM. NO MAGNETOS.

2. GM 19171821 (CT525) MUST USE FACTORY COIL PACKS. ALL CARS MUST HAVE A WORKING STARTER, AND BE SELF STARTING.

WATER PUMP RULES:

1. CAST OR ALLUMINUM PERMITTED.

2. NO ELECTRIC WATER PUMP.

EXHAUST RULES:

1. COLLECTOR TYPE HEADERS REQUIRED.

2. MUFFLERS MAY BE REUIRED DEPENDING ON NOISE ORDINANCES OF RACETRACK COMPETING AT.

 

FUEL - FUEL CELL - FUEL PUMP RULES:

1. AN APPROVED FUEL CELL (35 GALLON MAXIMUM) MUST BE SECURELY MOUNTED IN THE TRUNK AREA OF THE CAR, INSIDE A .20 GAUGE METAL BOX SUPPORTED BY A MINIMUM OF TWO 2" BY 1/8" STEEL STRAPS.

2. ALL FUEL CELLS MUST BE COMPLETELY VISIBLE FROM REAR OF CAR.

3. GASOLINE, METHONAL OR ALCHOHOL ALLOWED. NITROUS OXIDE IS NOT ALLOWED AT ANY TEXAS SUPER LATE MODEL RACING SERIES EVENT. THERE WILL BE NO FUEL STOPS DURING ANY TEXAS SUPER LATE MODEL RACING SERIES, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE SURE YOU CAN COMPLETE THE EVENT OR MAKE A PIT STOP. NO FUEL BURN OFF

4. MECHANICAL FUEL PUMP ONLY, BELT DRIVEN FUEL PUMP OK, NO ELECTRIC FUEL PUMPS.

BODY RULES:

1. STANDARD DIRT LATE MODEL BODY RULES APPLY CRATE RACIN’ USA, WORLD OF OUTLAWS, SAS. (See illustrations at the end of this Rulebook).

2. SPOILER SIZE MAXIMUM 8". EXCEPT FOR 602 & 604, WHICH MAY RUN A 12” SPOILER WITH SUPR TEMPLATE SIDEPLATES OR SMALLER

3. SPOILERS MUST BE MADE OF A RIGID MATERIAL SUCH AS LEXAN, SHEET ALUMINUM, OR MATERIALS OF EQUAL STRENGTH. SPOILER SUPPORTS SHOULD BE MADE OF EQUAL MATERIAL.

4. THE AEROTECH DOMINATOR NOSE PIECE IS ALLOWED.

5. NO MIRRORS.

6. NO RADIOS.

7. RACEceiver IS MANDATORY.

FRAME RULES:

1. ALL FRAMES MUST BE OF STEEL CONSTRUCTION.

2. SQUARE OR RECTANGULAR FRAME MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF 2" BY 2" MATERIAL, .083 WALL THICKNESSES.

3. ROUND TUBE FRAME, TUBING MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF 1-3/4" OUTSIDE DIAMETER, .083 WALL THICKNESSES.

WHEEL BASE RULE:

1. MINIMUM WHEELBASE WILL BE 103".

ROLL CAGE RULES:

1. ALL CARS MUST HAVE A SUITABLE STEEL ROLL CAGE PROTECTING THE DRIVER'S COMPARTMENT, INCLUDING HEADREST.

2. SIDE ROLLBARS ARE MANDATORY, AND MUST EXTEND INTO THE DOOR PANELS. A MINIMUM OF THREE (3) BARS MUST BE ON THE LEFT SIDE.

3. EACH BAR MUST BE AT LEAST 1 - 1/2" DIAMETER, WITH A MINIMUM MATERIAL THICKNESS OF .083".

4. ROLL CAGES MUST BE WELDED TO FRAME.

SAFETY RULES:

1. ALL CARS MUST HAVE 3" SEAT BELTS WITH SHOULDER HARNESS AND MUST BE ATTACHED TO ROLL CAGE. RECOMMENDED NO MORE THAN 3 YEARS OF AGE. HANS DEVICE OR SIMILAR HEAD NECK RESTRAINT NOT MANDATORY BUT RECOMMENED.

2. A 2 POUND ABC FIRE EXTINGUISHER MOUNTED WITHIN REACH OF THE DRIVER IS RECOMMENDED

3. WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND A 5 POUND HALON SYSTEM.

4. ALL DRIVERS MUST WEAR A COMPLETE FIRE SUIT.

5. GLOVES ARE NOT REQUIRED, BUT HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

TRANSMISSION RULES:

1. MUST HAVE AT LEAST ONE FORWARD AND ONE REVERSE GEAR IN WORKING ORDER.

2. NO STRAIGHT DRIVES OR IN AND OUT BOXES.

3. DRIVE SHAFTS MUST BE PAINTED WHITE - CARBON FIBER DRIVE SHAFTS ARE LEGAL.

4. BALLSPLINE TRANSMISSIONS-STRONGLY RECOMMENDED TO RUN CARBON FIBER DRIVE SHAFT ONLY! (This is for your safety)

BRAKE RULES:

1. ALL CARS MUST BE EQUIPPED WITH A 4 WHEEL BRAKING SYSTEM. RF SHUTOFF OK. NO CARBON FIBER BRAKE ROTERS.

 

WHEEL RULES:

1. ANY BRAND OR TYPE OF WHEEL ALLOWED MUST BE MOUNTED WITH LUG NUTS.

2. NO KNOCK-OFF OR CENTER LOCK WHEELS.

3. MAXIMUM WHEEL WIDTH - 14".

TIRE RULE:

1. WRS, WRS2, D55, OR LM 40 ON ALL FOUR CORNERS OF THE CAR. OPEN 1600 AND SUPR 1600 ARE NOT ALLOWED ON THE LEFT REAR. TIRES MUST CHECK A MINIMUM OF 70 OR HIGHER WHEN CHECKED WITH A TRACK DUROMTER. ACTUAL NUMBER WILL BE DETERMINED RACE NIGHT. THIS WILL BE ACCOMPLISHED BY PUCHING VARIOUS TIRES THROUGHOUT THE PITSAND USING THE AVERAGE READING THAT NIGHT SINCE TEMPERATURE AFFECTS DUROMETER READINGS.

2. NO ALTERING OF TIRES IN ANY MANNER, TIRE NUMBERING AND IDENTIFICATION MUST REMAIN INTACT AND UN-ALTERED, NO CHEMICAL TREATING OR ALTERING. GROOVING, SIPING, AND SANDING ALLOWED.

3. TIRE SAMPLES WILL BE TAKEN AND SENT OFF TO AN INDEPENDENT LABORATORY FOR TESTING AT OFFICIALS DISCREATION.

4. DRIVER WILL BE DISQUALIFIED, AND LOSE ALL POINTS, AWARDS, AND MONEY, WITH ANY TIRE RELATED INFRACTION.

PRE-RACE INSPECTIONS:

TECHNICAL INSPECTOR WILL DO RANDOM CHECKS IN THE STAGING AREA AND THROUGH THE PITS PRIOR TO COMPETITION. IF SOMETHING IS NOT LEGAL, THE CAR WILL NOT BE ALLOWED ON THE TRACK UNTIL THE VIOLATION IS CORRECTED.

SPONSOR DECALS – DECAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST DISPLAY REQUIRED DECALS AS PRESCRIBED BY THE SERIES TO BE ALLOWED TO COMPETE.

2. CONTINGENCY SPONSORS: TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR CONTINGENCY SPONSORSHIPS PARTICIPANT MUST FOLLOW THE REQUIREMENTS OF EACH COMPANY I.E. DECALS, PATCHES, PRODUCT, ETC. THESE REQUIREMENTS WILL BE PROVIDED.

RACEceivers:

1. EACH TEXAS SUPER LATE MODEL RACING SERIES PARTICIPANT WILL BE REQUIRED TO USE A RACECEIVER ONE WAY RADIO COMMUNICATION DEVICE (AVAILABLE FROM THE SERIES) TO RECEIVE COMMUNICATION FROM THE TEXAS SUPER LATE MODEL RACING SERIES RACE DIRECTOR DURING ALL EVENTS. EVENTS INCLUDE THE HOT LAPS, TIME TRIALS, HEAT RACES, CONSI FEATURES AND THE A-MAIN EVENT. GENERALLY, THE DRIVER SHOULD HAVE HIS RACECEIVER INSTALLED AND TUNED IN TO THE DESIGNATED FREQUENCY WITH THE VOLUME TURNED UP TO RECEIVE COMMUNICATIONS AT ANY TIME THEY HAVE THEIR HELMET ON AND ARE PREPARED TO COMPETE. THIS WOULD INCLUDE THE TIMES DURING LINE-UP AND THE RUNNING OF THE EVENT AND UNTIL RETURNING TO THEIR OWN PIT SPACE.

2. DRIVERS NEED TO MAKE SURE THEIR RACECEIVERS ARE TURNED ON AND IN WORKING ORDER BEFORE THEY GO ON THE RACE TRACK. TEXAS SUPER LATE MODEL RACING SERIES CAN COMMUNICATE A REQUEST FOR YOU TO THE RACE DIRECTOR FOR A RACECEIVER RADIO CHECK. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE DRIVER TO MAKE SURE THEY HAVE A NEW BATTERY INSTALLED IN THEIR RACECEIVERS AT EACH EVENT. REMOVE THE BATTERY FROM THE RACECEIVER EACH TIME YOU COME BACK TO YOUR PIT AREA. KEEP SPARE BATTERIES WITH YOU AT THE TRACK.

SHOULD YOUR RACECEIVER NOT WORK PROPERLY, REMOVE THE BATTERY AND PUT IT BACK IN TO RESET THE UNIT. IF THAT DOESN'T FIX THE PROBLEM, TRY PUTTING IN A NEW BATTERY. IF IT STILL DOESN'T WORK, CONSULT WITH A TEXAS SUPER LATE MODEL RACING SERIES.

REGISTRATION AND SIGN-IN:

1. EACH DRIVER MUST SIGN-IN DURING THE DESIGNATED TIMES BEFORE THE DRIVER'S MEETING AT EACH EVENT TO DRAW FOR A HEAT RACE QUALIFYING SPOT. DRIVERS THAT FAIL TO REGISTER DURING THIS TIME WILL PENALIZED TO THE END OF THE QUALIFICATION LINE.

2. EACH DRIVER MUST PAY THEIR ENTRY FEE AT THE SIGN-IN.

3. EACH DRIVER WILL ALSO PROVIDE ANY INFORMATION TO THE SERIES P.R. PERSONNEL REGARDING EQUIPMENT (CAR NUMBER/CHASSIS/ ENGINE NUMBER & ENGINE BUILDER), TEAM PERSONNEL (DRIVER NAME/HOMETOWN/ CREW CHIEF/CAR OWNER), AND SPONSORS, OR ANY CHANGES IN APPROPRIATE INFORMATION.

4. ALL DRIVERS MUST FILL OUT A DRIVER/CAR OWNER INFORMATION SHEET TO SERIES OFFICIALS AT SIGN-IN WITH CONTACT AND TAX INFORMATION, OR INFORM SERIES OFFICIALS OF ANY CHANGES IF THEY HAVE PREVIOUSLY FILLED OUT A DRIVER INFORMATION FORM. COMPETITORS ARE STRONGLY URGED TO PROVIDE AN E-MAIL ADDRESS IN ORDER TO RECEIVE IMPORTANT SERIES INFORMATION DURING THE SEASON IN A TIMELY MANNER.

5. DRIVER MUST COMPLETELY FILL OUT A REGISTRATION FORM, EITHER ONLINE OR AT AN EVENT.

 

POINTS:

POINTS WILL BE AWARDED FOR HEAT RACES B-MAINS AND A-MAINS. EVERY DRIVER THAT SIGNS IN AND DRIVES HIS CAR ON THE TRACK WILL RECEIVE 20 POINTS. All POINTS ARE BASED ON SUCCESSFULLY PASSING TECHNICAL INSPECTION.

POINTS WILL BE AWARDED TO CALCULATE SERIES CHAMPION AND ALSO USED TO DETERMINE PROVISIONAL STARTING POSITIONS. (note: No point fund will be in place for the inaugural season)

TECHNICAL INSPECTION:

1. SERIES OFFICIALS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO TECH ANY CAR AT ANY TIME DURING AN EVENT.

2. ALL CARS WILL BE INSPECTED BY SERIES TECHNICAL OFFICIALS BEFORE HOT LAPS. DRIVERS MUST PAY THEIR ENTRY FEE AND COMPLETE ANY REQUIRED PAPERWORK AT THE SERIES REGISTRATION TABLE BEFORE PRESENTING THEIR CAR AT THE PRE-RACE TECHNICAL INSPECTION.

3. DRIVERS WILL RECEIVE A TECH TICKET AFTER COMPLETING THEIR REGISTRATION TO PRESENT TO THE TECHNICAL INSPECTOR THAT SHOWS YOU HAVE COMPLETED YOUR REGISTRATION FOR THE EVENT AND THAT YOUR RACE CAR IS READY FOR TECHNICAL INSPECTION.

4. NOTIFICATION WILL BE GIVEN AT THE DRIVERS MEETING AS TO THE POST-RACE TECHNICAL INSPECTION PROCEDURE.

5. ANY CAR FOUND TO BE IN VIOLATION OF THE TEXAS SUPER LATE MODEL RACING SERIES RULES DURING THE POST-RACE INSPECTION WILL BE DISQUALIFIED FROM THAT EVENT AND RECEIVE NO POINTS AND NO MONEY.

6. TOP THREE CARS MUST CROSS SCALES AFTER CONCLUSION OF THEIR HEAT RACE. FAILURE TO DO SO RESULTS IN DISQUALIFICATION

7. TOP SIX MUST CROSS SCALES AFTER CONCLUSION OF FEATURE EVENT. TOP FIVE ENTER THE TECH AREA WITH SIXTH PLACE IN TECH ON STANDBY. IN THE EVENT THAT ONE OF THE TOP FIVE DO NOT PASS TECH, THEN THE SIXTH PLACE CAR MUST PASS TECH.

8. RANDOM TECH ITEMS WILL BE DRAWN BY ONE OF THE TOP FIVE WITH ANOTHER AS WITNESS.

DRIVERS MEETING:

1. ALL DRIVERS MUST ALWAYS ATTEND THE DRIVERS MEETING, AS IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS CONCERNING THE EVENT, IT’S FORMAT, AND PROCEDURES WILL BE GIVEN.

PACKING THE TRACK:

EVERY CAR MUST PARTICIPATE IN PACKING THE TRACK IF CALLED UPON. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN STARTING LAST IN ALL RACES QUALIFIED FOR.

HOT LAPS:

1. EACH DRIVER WILL BE ASSIGNED A HOT LAP SESSION ACCORDING TO WHERE THEY DREW FOR QUALIFICATIONS (i.e. WITH THEIR HEAT RACE GROUP). THE DRIVER MUST HOT LAP IN THEIR RESPECTIVE GROUP UNLESS APPROVED OTHERWISE BY THE TEXAS SUPER LATE MODEL RACING SERIES RACE DIRECTOR.

2. EACH DRIVER WILL RECEIVE ONE HOT LAP SESSION UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED.

RACE PROCEDURES:

1. DRIVERS WILL DRAW TO DETERMINE LINE-UP FOR HEAT RACES.

2. THE NUMBER OF HEAT RACES WILL BE DETERMINED BY THE NUMBER OF CARS ENTERED. THE NUMBER OF CARS IN EACH HEAT WILL BE DETERMINED AS FOLLOWS:

a. 3 HEATS- 24 OR FEWER CARS. MINIMUM OF 6 CARS IN EACH HEAT RACE AND MAXIMUM OF 8.

4 HEATS- TOP 5 TRANSFER TO THE A-MAIN. TOP 2 FROM B-MAIN TRANSFER TO THE A-MAIN.

5 HEATS- TOP 4 TRANSFER TO THE A-MAIN. TOP 2 FROM B-MAIN TRANSFER TO THE A-MAIN.

B-MAINS WILL BE 12 LAPS.

5. A-MAINS WILL BE 40/50 LAPS OR ONE HOUR AT PROMOTER AND RACE DIRECTOR’S OPTION. IF THE TIME RUNS OUT UNDER GREEN THE RACE WILL BE COMPLETED. IF A CAUTION OCCURS THE FLAGMAN WILL INDICATE TWO TO GO AND END THE RACE WITH A GREEN, WHITE, CHECKERED.

A-MAINS WILL BE LINED UP ACCORDING TO THE HEAT RACES AND B-MAINS. THE A-MAIN STARTING LINE UP MAY BE INVERTED (FIRST FOUR ROWS) BY DRAWING A NUMBERED POKER CHIP.

NUMBER 1- NO INVERT

NUMBER 2- FIRST TWO ROWS INVERT

NUMBER 3- FIRST THREE ROWS INVERT

NUMBER 4- FIRST FOUR ROWS INVERT

PROVISIONALS:

TWO PROVISIONAL STARTING SPOTS WILL BE AWARDED TO DRIVER WITH THE HIGHEST ACCUMULATED POINTS THAT DID NOT QUALIFY THROUGH THE HEAT RACES OR B MAINS (THEY MUST TAKE THE GREEN FLAG DURING THE B-MAIN TO BE ELIGIBLE)

STARTS & RESTARTS:

1. STARTING POINT FOR EACH EVENT WILL BE DETERMINED BY CONE OR CHALK BOX, AT RACE TRACK AND RACE DIRECTORS DISCRETION, AND ANNOUNCED AT DRIVERS MEETING. IF A DRIVER JUMPS THE ORIGINAL START OF A RACE, THE CAUTION FLAG WILL COME OUT, AND THE DRIVER JUMPING THE START WILL GET ONE WARNING. IF THE SAME DRIVER JUMPS THE START A SECOND TIME, THE CAUTION WILL COME OUT, AND THAT DRIVER WILL BE PENALIZED ONE ROW. IF A CAUTION IS BROUGHT OUT BECAUSE OF A RACING INCEDENT BEFORE THE FIRST LAP IS COMPLETE FIELD WILL BE GIVEN A COMPLETE RESTART, RACING INCEDENT WILL BE THE JUDGEMENT OF RACE DIRECTOR. IF A DRIVER STOPS, DELIBERATELY TO BRING OUT A CAUTION ON AN INITIAL START THEY WILL BE SENT TO THE REAR.

2. RESTARTS IN ALL RACES AFTER THE ORIGINAL START WILL BE “ DELAWARE” DOUBLE-FILE RESTARTS. DURING THE CAUTION PERIOD, CARS WILL REMAIN SINGLE-FILE WHILE THE FIELD IS RESET VIA RACECEIVER RADIO IN THE ORDER BY THE LAST COMPLETED LAP. ONCE THE FIELD IS SET, THE SECOND-PLACE DRIVER WILL BE ASKED VIA RACECEIVER RADIO TO CHOOSE THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE LINE FOR THE RESTART. THE THIRD-PLACE CAR AND THOSE BEHIND WILL FILL IN THE APPROPRIATE LINE FOR THE RESTART. THE RACE LEADER WILL BE IN A ROW BY HIMSELF, AND MAY RESTART EITHER INSIDE OR OUTSIDE. ONCE THE DOUBLE-FILE LINE-UP HAS BEEN SET, THE ONE-TO-GO SIGNAL WILL BE GIVEN, AND DRIVERS MUST HOLD THEIR POSITION UNTIL THE GREEN FLAG IS DISPLAYED.

3. IF A DRIVER JUMPS A DOUBLE-FILE RESTART, THAT DRIVER WILL BE PENALIZED TWO POSITIONS FOR EACH CAR JUMPED ON THE RESTART. THE DRIVER WILL BE MOVED BACK IN THE RUNNING ORDER AT THE NEXT CAUTION FLAG FROM THE POSITION HE WAS RUNNING AT THE TIME OF THE RESTART, OR AT THE END OF THE RACE, WHICHEVER COMES FIRST.

4. OFFICIALS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO GO A SINGLE-FILE RESTART AT ANY TIME DURING AN EVENT DUE TO TRACK CONDITIONS.

CAUTIONS:

1. THERE WILL BE NO RACING BACK TO THE CAUTION, EXCEPT ON THE LAST LAP, AFTER THE WHITE FLAG HAS BEEN SHOWN TO THE LEADER AND THE LEADER HAS STARTED HIS LAST LAP AND WILL RACE BACK TO THE CHECKERED FLAG.

 

 

2. IN THE EVENT OF A CAUTION, THE CAR, OR CARS, JUDGED TO BE THE CAUSE OF THE INCIDENT WILL BE SENT TO THE REAR OF THEIR RESPECTIVE LAP. IF THE CAUSE CAN NOT BE DETERMINED BY OFFICIALS, THE CAR(S) STOPPED ON THE TRACK WILL BE CREDITED WITH THE CAUTION. ALL CARS THAT ARE VISIBLY INDIRECTLY INVOLVED IN THE ACCIDENT (SPINNING OR STOPPING TO AVOID THE WRECK) WILL BE GIVEN THEIR POSITION BACK.

 

 

3. IF A CAR ENTERS THE PITS FOR ANY REASON AFTER TAKING THE SPEEDWAY FOR A HEAT, B-MAIN, FEATURE, OR DURING A CAUTION OR RED FLAG PERIOD, THAT CAR MUST REJOIN THE FIELD AT THE REAR. ANY MEMBER OF ANY TEAM WHO WORKS ON THE CAR, DURING A CAUTION OR RED FLAG, WHILE THE CAR IS STILL ON THE TRACK, WILL BE JUDGED TO HAVE MADE A PIT STOP, AND WILL BE SENT TO THE REAR.

 

 

4. ONLY TRACK OFFICIALS MAY WORK ON CARS ON THE TRACK, AND IF THE OFFICIALS ARE UNABLE TO FIX A PROBLEM, THEY MAY SEND THE CAR TO THE PITS. THIS RULE ALSO APPLIES IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT. DO NOT GET OUT OF YOUR CAR UNLESS YOU ARE PREPARED TO RESUME THE RACE AT THE REAR OF THE FIELD.

 

 

5. ROUGH DRIVING OR OVER AGGRESSIVE DRIVING WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. IF THE RACE DIRECTOR BELIEVES THAT A DRIVER IS DRIVING OVER HIS HEAD OR ROUGH DRIVING, THAT DRIVER WILL BE SENT EITHER TO THE REAR, OR BLACK FLAGGED AND SENT TO THE PITS. DRIVER WILL BE NOTIFIED VIA RACECEIVER THAT HE IS BEING PENALIZED.

 

 

6. IN THE EVENT OF A FLAT TIRE, I DRIVER AND TEAM WILL BE GIVEN A MINIMUM OF 2 COURTESY LAPS, AND A MAXIMUM OF 3 COURTESY LAPS DETERMINED BY TRACK SIZE, AND AVAILABILITY OF A “HOT PIT” AREA. DRIVERS WILL BE INFORMED AT DRIVERS MEETING.

SPIN RULES:

1. ANY CAR SPINNING OUT TWICE (2) AND/OR STOPPING ON THE TRACK WHICH BRINGS OUT THE CAUTION FLAG TWICE, WILL BE BLACK FLAGED AND SENT TO THE PITS.

2. ON INITIAL START OF A RACE, IF CONTACT IS MADE CAUSING A CAR OR CARS TO SPIN OUT, AND NO LAPS ARE COMPLETED; THE CARS INVLOVED WILL GET THEIR RESPECTIVE STARTING SPOTS BACK FOR THE COMPLETE RESTART. IF NO CONTACT IS INVOLVED AND A CAR SPINS OUT ON THE INITIAL START, THAT CAR WILL RESTART IN THE LAST STARTING POSITION.

CHANGES AND SUBSTITIONS:

 

1. AT THE DISCRETION OF THE RACE DIRECTOR, ANY DRIVER MAY CHANGE TO A DIFFERENT CAR AT ANY TIME BEFORE B-MAINS OR FEATURE EVENT. AS A RESULT OF THE CHANGE THE DRIVER MUST START AT THE REAR OF HIS B-MAIN, OR FEATURE RACE. IF CHANGING TO A CAR THAT HAS NOT BEEN PREVIOUSLY INSPECTED, THEN THAT CAR WILL HAVE PASS INSPECTION, AND HAVE APPROPRIATE WEIGHT STICKER BEFORE BEING ALLOWED TO COMPETE.

 

TIME & SCHEDULE:

 

1. ALL EVENTS WILL BE CONDUCTED ACCORDING TO SCHEDULE IN A TIMELY MANNER. THE MAIN EVENT WILL BE STARTED NO LATER THAN 11PM, IF POSSIBLE. SCHEDULES WILL BE POSTED IN THE PITS, AS WILL LINE-UPS AND QUALIFYING ORDERS, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO BE PREPARED AND IN LINE WHEN IT IS YOUR TIME TO BE ON THE RACE. IF YOU ARE NOT IN YOUR SPOT PRIOR TO YOUR RACE, BE PREPARED TO START IN THE REAR.

 

 

2. IN A RAIN DELAY SITUATION THE RACE DIRECTOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO AMEND THE RACING FORMAT IN THE INTEREST OF TIME RESTRAINTS AND SCHEDULING CONFLICTS. THE FORMAT CHANGES WILL BE MADE WITH THE FANS AND DRIVERS BEST INTEREST IN MIND, AND CHANGES WILL ONLY BE MADE IF AN EVENT IS IN JEOPARDY OF BEING LOST DUE TO RESCHEDULING AVAILABILITY, A TIME CURFEW, OR INCLEMENT WEATHER. UNDER THESE CIRCUMSTANCES THE AMOUNT OF LAPS FOR QUALIFYING, HEATS, AND MAIN EVENT MAY BE SHORTENED. A FEATURE RACE IS CONSIDERED COMPLETE WHEN 50% OR MORE OF THE LAPS ARE SCORED IN THE EVENT OF WEATHER OR RARE INSTANCES.

 

ATTENTION RACERS:

WE ARE THE GUEST OF THE RACE TRACK HOSTING A Southern TEXAS LATE MODEL RACING SERIES EVENT. AS A DRIVER AND TEAM WE EXPECT YOU TO ALWAYS CONDUCT YOURSELVES IN A PROFESSIONAL MANNER. THE Southern TEXAS LATE MODEL RACING SERIES MAY ALTER OR CHANGE RACE PROCEDURES, AND SCHEDULING, IN AGREEMENT WITH HOST TRACK OFFICIALS AS NECESSARY TO FACILITATE FAN INTEREST OR TIME CONSTRAINTS. THE Southern TEXAS LATE MODEL RACING SERIES AND ITS OFFICIALS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CHANGE ALTER, OR AMEND THESE RULES, IN THE INTEREST OF FAIR COMPLETION. ALL OFFICIALS DECISIONS ARE FINAL.

 

PROMOTER’S OPTION:

THE PROMOTER(S) OF EACH Southern TEXAS LATE MODEL RACING SERIES EVENT RESERVES THE OPTION TO ADD THE TOP TWO SERIES POINT DRIVERS TO THE 23RD AND 24TH STARTING POSITIONS OF THE MAIN EVENT OR THE LAST ROW OF THE LINE-UP PROVIDED THEY TAKE THE GREEN FLAG OF THEIR ASSIGNED B-MAIN EVENT AND FAIL TO TRANSFER TO THE MAIN EVENT.

 

RAIN OUTS:

 

SHOULD AN EVENT BE POSTPONED UNTIL A LATER DATE DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER, ALL EVENTS THAT HAVE BEEN COMPLETED SHALL STAND GOOD UPON RETURNING TO THE RESCHEDULED DATE. ANY DRIVER NOT PRESENT AT THE PREVIOUS DATE MAY ATTEND RESCHEDULED DATE AND START AT THE REAR OF THE B-MAIN(S) OR START IN THE REAR OF THE FEATURE EVENT IS THERE IS LESS THAN A FULL STARTING FIELD.
