2012 South Texas Shootout Rules for Street Stocks

 

* All cars min. 3200 lbs. Unless you are running street DOT Tires min. 3000 lb.

* All cars must run steel shocks with any racing spring. No coilovers.

* Min. wheelbase is 107.5".

* NO complete or partial tube chassis from front suspension to rear suspension.

* Tube rear clips will be allowed for leaf-spring cars however front leaf spring mount must be in stock location.

* Stock style steering components only, quick steer optional. Must run stock lower front control arms for year make and model.

* 3 link is optional with stock lower arms, 4 link must be stock locations and stock arms.

* Any bushing allowed front end, rear end, upper and lower for control arms or trailing arms.

* Motor setback, #1 sparkplug can not pass upper balljoint.

* 10" min. coverters. Must be working.

* 10.5" min. clutch must have fwd and reverse working clutch. No direct drives.

* All cars on gas only. Mechanical pumps. No fuel additives.

* Flat top pistons only. Heads must be cast iron, OEM min. 62 cc. Aftermarket allowed min. 72 cc.

* No aciding, porting or polishing of heads or intake. No roller cams. 362 max cubic inch.

* Tires allowed Hoosier Dirt Boss, Asphalt Takeoffs, Hoosier G60, American Racer kk704 or Any

DOT Street Tire. Beadlock rr only.

* Must be a full bodied stock car style body. No late model type bodies.

 

Cars running on Hoosier Dirt Boss Tires

* min. 72 cc steel head can be aftermarket. No roller rockers allowed.

* stock intake or edelbrock 2101 only w 4412 carb.

 

Cars running Qjet

* min. 72 cc steel head can be aftermarket. No roller rockers allowed.

* stock intake or edelbrock 2101.

 

Cars running G60 (american racers or hoosier)

* Min. 62 cc steel gm factory head or min. 72 cc steel head can be aftermarket.

*Any 2 or 4 barrell intake.

 

Cars running DOT tires

* 200 lb weight break. Min. 3000 lb.

* Can run any qjet or 4412, any 2 or 4 barrel intake.

* Min. 62 cc steel gm factory head or min. 72 cc steel head can be aftermarket.

 

 

These rules were made to allow for the most possible entries. Remember 50 cars and its $2500 to win! The rules allows for all participants in the region to consider racing with little to no changes. This race will turn into if not already the biggest street stock style race in Texas. I hope many many locals and regional drivers from the shootout series defend Corpus Christi and keep the money locally. Good luck to everyone and please ask any questions should you have any.
