rebelracewriter
I was watching it when it was on TV Sunday....modern timing can carry it out farther than the 10,000th of a second.....OR as Dunn stated, "Ties always go to the car in the left lane." neon14
In a circle track race it would suck to tie because you would have to split the purse with each other. That means the 3rd......no 2nd place car would prolly make more money than the winners LOL! A couple years ago my sister tied in points for motorcycle street ET. They left it at that. No tie breaker, it was kind of a bummer.
Sarge
At Texas Thunder Speedway we had a tie in the I-Stock race. Margin of victory was .000. Per IMCA policy, in the case of a tie, both drivers get the 40 points for the win, and split 1st & 2nd place money. In the case of the tie last month, promoter David Goode paid both drivers 1st place money. 3rd place car got 3rd place money. And why would you make more money if you tie? You weren't the undisputed winner. You were a co-winner. As long as the promoter pays out the purse he said he would, it should all be good. You want all of 1st place money? Don't let the other car tie with you. Regards, Bill "Sarge" Masom
ProTree
really wouldnt matter at a regular sat nite drag race, they usually do a split in the finals anyway.
