I know at the 3/8s mile track about 25 is a full field but on the half mile... would you do like Nascar and do 43 or would you go up to 50? Well, having seen major carnage with 40 late models starting a race at San Antonio, and having seen carnage with only 10 late models, there is no real way to answer that. I will say that I once saw an excellent show with 32 starters on a track not much bigger than Corpus, and I have seen lousy shows with 24 starters on a 1/2 mile that was bigger than San Antonio.
