After placing 2nd in an 8 lap Qualifying Heat Race, Lalo started the 20 lap Feature Race on the 2nd row ouside. He was close behind the leader and 2nd place cars and racing in 3rd place on lap 15 when he slowed and appeared to motor or coast into the pits. No smoke was seen. No oil on the track was reported.

Lalo loaded and left the track before I returned to the TPS pits about 20 minutes after the TPS Feature Race.

I am regret hearing that he had a major engine failure. He is a 2.3 Ford engine specialist. I trust that he'll create an engine for the TPS race on July 31 at CCMS.

well people not good news . the machine shop is having a awful time trying to fix his head . and he destroyed 2 pistons and rods . so if he shows up it well be with a junk yard motor . i know he has already ordered some piston and rods. but there is no way the machine shop will have the short block ready . well good luck to everyone and have fun

I talked to Lalo on the phone Wednesday afternoon. He said his engine would be ready for CCMS on July 31. The damage came whe the timing belt broke at 8,300 rpm during feature race at THR on July 17.

Lalo has also secured 3 sponsors to assist with enhanncing the purse. He is a very good TPS member.

Jesse Sandoval will be running his fabricated frame, Esslinger head # 7 Ford Pinto for the first time on July 31 at CCMS.

Donnie Moore, Bill LaBarge, Mike Knotts and Jamie Garner will be there. Don't know status of Tony Johnson and Bryce Dishman and their Ford Mustangs. Sergio Hexsel and crew are nearing completion of a new VW Rabbit since he totaled his Scirocco at SAS on July 10. Arriving at the track will be a close proposition for Sergio.

Don't miss this race CCMS fans.
