NickHolt Posted June 2, 2011 Report Share Posted June 2, 2011 LAST WEEKEND RECAP at 85 Speedway Ennis, Texas (June 1, 2011) - May 28th proved to be an excellent night for racing. 97 cars were in attendance with good car counts in every class. The Street Stocks put on a heck of a show during intermission with the crowd standing Dash for Cash. Justin Strain of Ennis barely snuck by Jackie Hefti of Mabank as they approached the checkered flag. Justin Strain went home with an additional $250, a trophy, and cheers from the fans. Thank you to Garry Curry of Circle C Racing and Extreme Wood Care for sponsoring the cash winnings and Hotties Tan & More and Auto Master Body and Frame for sponsoring the trophy. J.C. Howell beat 17 other drivers to win the Street Stock feature. If you are an Ennis resident, present your driver's license with an Ennis address to the front ticket window for one free adult general admission. This does not apply to pit admission. DASH FOR CASH QUALIFYING Remember that all Street Stock heat race winners throughout the month of June will qualify for the Dash for Cash race on June 25th. If you are interested in adding additional monies, please feel free to send us a reply. HOURS AND PRICES Pits and gates open at 6:00 pm, sign in stops at 7:30 pm, and racing begins at 8:00 pm. General admission is: adults $10, seniors $9, kids 6-12 $5, and kids under 6 are free. Pit passes are $25. New driver registration is $30. ENTERING THE PITS If you plan on entering the pits this weekend, please make sure to purchase your pit pass at the pit window. Normally you can purchase a general admission ticket, take your stub to the pit window, and pay the difference, but since this is a free city weekend, we will NOT be accepting ticket stubs at the pit window. All pit admissions will be charged at the full $25. TRAILER RACES If you are interested in participating in a trailer race on July 2nd at 85 Speedway, please send us a reply. The rules will be the same as or very similar to KSP's trailer race rules. Entry fee is $50 and pays $1,000 to win. We are working on additional monies for 1st and 2nd place.
