amwatson Posted December 11, 2010 Report Share Posted December 11, 2010 My husband's father passed away in the early 1980's. His name was Charles Watson, and ironically had the nickname "Tex." (NOT of the Manson clan). He supposedly drag raced in the 50's or 60's in or around Dallas and Houston Texas. Most of his belongings were lost and I am trying to track down stuff for my husband's Christmas present. (So I can't ask him). He said his Dad had some trophies from racing and wishes he could have them. Charles family is also deceased except for 1 sister who doesn't know where the trophies went after Charles' death. Does anyone perhaps remember him. He was probably 6' 4", dark very curly hair and also worked as an upholsterer. I know this is a long shot but you never know. Here's what he had to say: Nick - I just came across the post where my wife asked about Charles Watson. My wife made the initial post. Yes, those pics are my dad! Where did you come across these and did you know him? Any information you can share would be great as I was still a kid when he passed. I'm also the boy in the pic with shirt off. As coincidence goes, I'm getting into vintage racing in South Carolina so I will look forward to reading through the Lone Star posts.
