After sweeping through Houston last Saturday, "The King" Steve Kinser continued his Texas dominance, qualifying second second, finishing third in his heat, taking the dash and A-main wins. S Kinser started outside the "Dude" Danny Lasoski and squeezed him down on green to grab the lead. Jeff Sheppard brought out bthe first yellow when he stopped after breaking the rear gears on lap 2. On the restart S Kinser held the low groove all around, while Lasoski was going low in 1-2 and high in 3-4, with Chad Kemanah nipping at his heels on the low side. Just as the top three got into traffic, Dean Jacobs spun to bring out another caution. S. Kinser got a good jump on the restart, while Craig Dollansky, Paul McMahon and Brooke Tatnell battled thre wide for eighth. Just before halfway, PJ Chesson spun in turn four as the leaders were going in to three, all were able to avoid Chesson's stalled car.

S. Kinser again checked out on green, with Kemanah, Lasoski, Daryn Pittman and Shane Stewart the top five at the mid point. Kemanah tried to hang on to S. Kinser, but fell back to 10 car lengths with 10 to go. With the field spead out S. Kinser was able to pick off laps cars at will, using the high and low grooves to slice through the the final laps. At the checkers it was S. Kinser in the Quaker State/Delco Remy/O'Riellys/Hoosier/Maxim Chassis taking the victory

24 started the non-sanctioned modified 20 lap A-main with Kolt Walker and Dennie Gieber on the front row. Gieber held of Walker going into turn one. Wes Armstrong battled side by side with Richard Griffin for second as Gieber pulled out to a 10 car advantage and Walker fell back. After a caution for a spin by Donnie Powers, Gieber again got out to a 5 car advantage on the restart.

At the halfway point it was Gieber, Griffin, Kevin Simpson, Walker and a three wide battle for fifth between Armstrong, Kenny Gaddis and Clyde Dunn. Just at halfway, Chris Hennigan spun to bring out another yellow, with Dunn being forced to pit with a flat right front. Griffin hung with Gieber on the restart until Simpson challenged him for second. This gave Gieber a chance to rebuild his lead. With five to go, Gieber was continuing to pull away as the field strung out. At the checkers it was Gieber in his Day Motorsports/Dirt Works Chassis taking the win by almost a full straight.
