I know Mark Salango already posted it on the other topic but it probably won't hurt to have it all by it self..:)

Reading some of the responses to the article, someone needs to make a project out of bringing a couple of neighbors into our racing family. A little kindness and understanding goes a long way if paired with some tangible benefits like free tickets, VIP seating, free concessions - the royal treatment. Not just one night, but every night.

THR faced similar complaints a few years ago. And we enforced the 96dB rule to the maximum which pissed off a LOT of racers, but it had to be done or we were going to get shut down. But the best move was when Jim and Brian went over and sat in the back yard with a few of the more vocal of the complainers on a race night and actually listened to their complaints while the racing was going on.

We took steps to meet the neighbors' needs, made it our goal to be done racing by 10:00 pm, religiously enforced that darn 96dB rule and the complaints stopped.

This past weekend when a they had the sound test one of Wayne's neighbors showed up with both of his elderly parents and they were all impressed by the dramatic reduction of noise associated with the different mufflers on the cars. I had the lowback muffler, but the muffler that Wayne Brown preferred was the FlowTech Raptor Turbo Mufflers which were purchased at O'Reilly Auto for 22 bucks a piece. They seem the be quieter than the lowback and less restrictive. And of coarse all mufflers had turndowns.
