Carl Wentrcek

Recommended Posts

Saw Carl Wentrcek featured on the Texas Country Reporter show this morning. Carl's fishing guide service is located in Corpus Christi, but he has several "float fishing cabins" located in remote areas of the coastal waters. His cabins are equipped with stadium lights for attracting the fish for some serious night fishing.

Carl was a top competitor and multi-time champion in the Limited Late Models at San Antonio Speedway. Occasionally, his LLM could also be competitive with the Super Late Models.

Got to talk awhile with Carl at last year's TSRS race in Corpus; he was in the stands watching.

He keeps up with the area racing, and looks real good.

Here is a link to his Guide service website:

I had breakfast with Capt. Carl this morning he is doing good. We talked some about his racing days. He told me the story about having to get a police escort out of town the one time he came down here to race.

Carl stopped by my shop today I had not seen him in awhile. We had a nice visit we sat in my garage by my dwarf car and he told me some stories about his  Pan Am and  Highway 16 days. He had just finished 5 months of chemo and needed to get out of the house. I do hope stops by again soon I love hearing the stories from back when.
