txtom
There were two types of racing with these little cars; the board track like in the video, and, what is currenty done, a round track with a tether pole in the middle, with one car running at a time. My Grandfather and Dad ran the board track racers, and they ran a 4 lane track at the southwest corner of the intersection of Northwest Highway and Preston Road in Dallas. The popular cars were either Dooling or McCoys, but there were several other brands out there. Interestingly, the board track record when that video was made was 127 mph, the current world record for tether cars is over 214 mph. With a 10CC engine.
