“WHO’S WHO” OF DIRT MODIFIED RACING HEADED FOR 11TH ANNUAL FEATHERLITE FALL JAMBOREE

SPRING VALLEY, Minn. (Sept. 22) – The wait is nearly over for thousands of race fans in America’s heartland as the 11th Annual Featherlite Fall Jamboree is less than 48 hours away.

Slated for this Wednesday through Saturday, Sept. 23-26 at the Deer Creek Speedway, the Featherlite Fall Jamboree is the undisputed marquee event for America’s most talented dirt modified drivers, and this year’s event is shaping up to be the biggest ever as 110 of the “who's who” of dirt modified racing have already pre-entered for this year’s installment.

Featuring the modifieds of the USMTS Casey's General Stores National Tour, the star-studded field of pre-entered superstars consists of 110 drivers from 16 different States — Arizona, Arkansas, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas and Wisconsin — as they converge on the tiny rural town of Spring Valley, Minn., for a possible $12,000 to win over three big days.

Along with the USMTS Modifieds, the event will also feature WISSOTA Midwest Mods, with more than 60 entries expected to compete. Combined, the two classes will compete for a total purse of nearly $200,000 in America's dream date for modified fans.

Three complete shows are on tap for Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the high-banked 3/8-mile clay oval, with a practice session on Wednesday to kick off the festivities.

On Wednesday, early bird race fans can get a free preview of the action, and drivers will get their chance to make final adjustments to their machines with an open practice for all drivers in both classes from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Admission to the grandstand is free for all.

Thursday's USMTS Modified main event carries a $2,000 top prize and pays a minimum of $300 to start — a hefty top prize, indeed, but that’s only opening day at the Featherlite Fall Jamboree. Grandstand gates open at 4:00 p.m. and the first green flag waves at 6:00.

Friday’s menu will kick off with the annual golf tournament at 10:00 a.m. at the Root River County Club in Spring Valley, followed by a second night of screaming on-track action. The USMTS Modifieds will again have a 30-car feature field, with the winner’s share of the purse doubled to $4,000 and a minimum of $350 going to each driver making the main event. Fans, drivers, crews and families will put a lid on Friday’s festivities with the annual Karaoke Night … open to everybody. Gates open at 4:00 p.m. with racing scheduled to start at 6:00.

Saturday's super-sensational enormous explosive finale will feature the hottest dirt modified pilots in the nation battling for a spot in the 11th Annual Featherlite Fall Jamboree main event for the USMTS Modifieds. A field of 30 cars will start the main event three cars wide and ten rows deep as drivers battle for a $6,000 top prize and at least $700 just to take the green flag. And if that wasn’t enough, non-qualifiers will have a chance at one of the 30 spots in the non-qualifiers race, which carries a $2,000 top prize and pays $300 to start ... that’s more than most modified races pay to win their “big one.” Fans can begin storming the gates at 3:00 p.m. and the mud starts flying at 5:00.

On Thursday, Friday and Saturday, breakfast will be served by the Bear Creek Lutherna Church in the hospitality area from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. All proceeds benefit the Bear Creek Men’s Club. Open to all … you don’t want to miss this great home-cooked opportunity.

WISSOTA national points will be awarded all three nights for the WISSOTA Midwest Mods. Thursday's main event will pay $300 to win and $60 to start, Friday will pay $400 to win and $70 to start and Saturday's Carroll's Corn "A" Main winner will earn $1,000 with $80 guaranteed to start the 24-car main event.

Last, but certainly not least … this year’s Featherlite Fall Jamboree will once again be the final event in the Hunt for the USMTS Casey's General Stores National Championship. Not only will an 11th Featherlite Fall Jamboree winner emerge, but the crowning of the USMTS National Champion will also occur after Saturday night’s finale.

That information came from the USMTS. It was actually a combination of three different USMTS press releases. If you look carefully you can see the USMTS website listed in the release. These same releases are also posted on their site.
