IMCA Modified Sanction for I37?

I looked through the "racing junk" posting and one of the two cars for sale was on there. All of the others were maybe within 200 miles but nearly all were at the edge. Only 1 car from anywhere closer than Austin. Like I said, there are no cars around this area parked and IMCA ready to use.

I can name 4 right now

20 sbg

25 sbg

37 pittaway

99 rye

Greg, I do plan to race at hill country and I-37 as long as it doesn't cost too much. Reb, you can't make money even winning but you can pay expenses for the night by finishing 2nd. I will never spend what it takes to win with the current engines used, outlaw or IMCA. I don't bitch about money as much as you and Greg bitch about not going IMCA. A car count can't depend on cars traveling from another track and you can't get new local cars for free. Untill the advent of IMCA the tracks paid better.

I've removed a few comments in in this thread, but it's a good topic - as long as stays civil and on topic.

We all have different opinons on things, but please, folks, let's not get negative with each other.

Thanks.

Nick

Reb, did it hurt when you fell off that turnip truck? I do know what it used to cost me. HCR is much closer to me so I can race much cheaper. I don't have any ideas of starting any new class, there aren't old cars around. That is Yankee's thought. HCR does need you to race even with your mountain motor. Spectator's mean more than me winning always. Next.

imca will be dead and gone in a few years for all classes in south texas and probly all of texas..... imca isnt gonna bring anymore cars to the track.. maybe one or two but you will lose one or two thats just how it is.... everyone can cry all they want but it doesnt matter... money matters... pay less to race with a bigger chance at winning more money... just like a casino... payouts are good people dump money in to it.... and when racers start bringing cars for CONSISTANT big pots then the fans will see more cars at track with more action then more fans will come(with right PR guy).... simple as that, you can argue all day but thats the way it is... as for other tracks with mediokra payouts that do good because lots of local racers live in area, also a good promoter, and consistant racing....AND THATS THE REST OF THE STORY...

I personally think if you want to make big money racing, you need to know your role and know the class your best suited for. There are some people that race in the bigger classes that can't handle a wheel, and some racers in the beginner classes that should be racing a higher class. I obviously am not a promoter ,genious ,or track specialist, but I love racing and like seeing a racer earn his win with a good unpredictable race. Maybe charge the lower classes a few less dollars and the uppers a bit more to earn their keep. There are alot of racers that (believe it or not)race because it cost the same to race in each class with better bragging rights that they race in an upper class. The motors vary in price I know but there some that don't care. The gate has to make money. You may deter less fortunate drivers from moving up,but if you love it enough and are good enough you should have less of a problem finding monetary aid.In a perfect class(in a perfect world) a talented driversclass is more fun to watch that any existing class. Again, these are just opinions. If it all stayed the same and the griping remained the same, I would still be the same diehard fan I will always be. My opinions are not solutions, but strictly poor guidelines to make racers and promoters raise an eyebrow. If I left my discussion open for rebuttle, I am sorry that wasn't my intention. I just wan't every track and racer earn his money. Keep on racing ,I'll be happy.

i think big mods r out the door down here the racers will not keep going to race for second and the fans they get tired of it so when outlaw has outlaw rules and rules r good but when there is no tech and no tech at all where is it going to stop what is going to keep traction control from being used when is a rolled frame going to be checked when is a set back engine getting checked it isnt  so my point say goodbye to the mods down here as u see i went north and raced with some bad ass cars that they went through 30 mins of tech :P:blink: so get ur traveling shoes on cause thats what its going to take if i counted correctly i-37 car count did not go up so let all the talkers that talk about how outlaw is the way and then dont show up and all the bull crap slingers that dont even own a car  go support ur local track and do what u say u r going to do ;) i tried it again and have made up my mind to park my crap for a month or maybe less and we will see u have to tech tech tech outlaw can work but if u dont tech well then u get what u get no mods

it was the same way when the south was imca because they didnot want to make certain people mad

You bring up an interesting point, buck....When did we start getting all politically correct out here in the west? I mean like we don't need to go all John Wayne, but I hate dancin' around with diplomacy. If it's wrong-fix it. If it's illegal-don't do it. If you say you're gonna do something-do it. Life's too short.....

back to my statement i made earlier.... outlaw or imca does not matter to me all i was trying to say is that imca isnt gonna save a track , niether may outlaw.... money money money..... is what its all about.. and greg your right about tech... needs to be done with a fine tooth comb and ones cheating need to pay the piper..... thats what detours more drivers than payout ever will.... no tech and favortism but that can be applyed to many of tracks....
