33 YEARS OF TPS RACING IS COMPLETED: With the running of the October 18th event at Red River Speedway, the 2008 Texas Pro Sedan season is completed. Awards were presented at the TPS Awards Dinner on November 8 at Earl Abels Restaurant in San Antonio. Special Appreciation, Sponsor & Championship Awards were presented to the 2008 Champion: #20 Sergio Hexsel and 2008 Rookie of the Year: #3 Bob Sherland. We congratulate both TPS drivers. The 2008 TPS car count was good as was the quality of competition. 100% race participants: #20 Sergio Hexsel, #26 Lalo Leal, #28 Lisa Sandoval, #48 Mike Knotts, #70 Mike Merrell, #71 Bruce Mabrito. The 2008 driver list totaled 43 driver/members. It was a memorable year for the oldest touring series in Texas. I thank those members who participated fairly and were loyal to TPS and all TPS members, drivers, car owners, officials and sponsors for their participation and support. TPS thanks Mike Cooper for inviting TPS to three races at Red River Speedway and Mary Ann Naumann for eight races at Thunderhill Raceway.

 

2008 TPS OFFICIALS: Members should thank all TPS Officials for their dedication, patience and hard work during the 2008 season. 2009 MEMBERSHIP: Most drivers renewed their membership at the Sept 27/Oct 18 meeting by “carrying over” $65 of race winnings. Dues were rolled over by TPS for members not present at the meeting. 2009 Membership Forms were mailed and are posted on TPS.com. To assure you receive your car number preference, mail 2009 form with applicable dues payment. Note: Car numbers held by 2008 full time members will be protected until December 25, 2008.

After Christmas day, all un-renewed car numbers are no longer protected and issued on a first come paid basis.

2009 RULES & CHANGES: Projected rules changes were few and minor. Any changes were based on 2008 season

demonstrated performance and the need to maintain equity in races as TPS goes into it's 34th season. 2009 Rules were hand distributed at Awards Dinner and mailed Nov 10.

 

2009 TPS SCHEDULE: Two holiday weekends and four races signed at Red River Speedway.

Six Thunderhill Raceway events were signed at the TPS Awards Dinner.

CCS was offered two races on March 21 and July 11. CCS verbally agreed, then susequently declined.
