Congrats to Top Dog on the win. Well deserved. Also good run to Mike Merrell. Serge sorry about your misfortune, I know you'll be ready at the next race. Had to edit because I forgot to commend Lisa on her very good run. Way to go!!

When did the tps series start a race single file? I was not impressed with the start or the race in general. When you start single file it tends to end in the same fashion. I understand the cone on the front straight away, but usually it is used on a restart. The cars got so strung out on the start and the fast cars starting in the front that it was not a very good race to watch from my point of view. Maybe that explains the dwindling car count for a series that has run for around thirty years. That and I have seen some of the same cars run without change or paint for at least 10 years.

ivicic: In answer to your post, the TPS Race Bulletin regulations for July 26 specified single file starts for the Qualifying Heats and the Feature Race.

The drivers, and those crew chiefs who attended, were told in the pre-race meeting, "If the two Qualifying Heats are run cleanly, TPS will change the race format and return to a double file start for the Feature Race".

Apparently you missed the TPS Qualifying Heats which were run at 6:30pm.

The TPS car counts are larger than all other series except TSRS. 17 Texas Pro Sedans signed in at THR last night. TPS is completing it's 33rd consecutive racing season.

btw: New paint on a few Texas Pro Sedans was suggested before their next race, August 30 at Thunderhill Raceway.

OT bring back the shark, I guess the black makes it feel dead, it was on a role as the shark. Me, I may add fake flames or bubbles on the hood for the radiator.

i was telling jessie the last car we had like this .was black ...im thinking it thinks it is frankenstein... dang car was fast in the heat .alittle loose from to much rear stagger , but ran all laps with out a mis ..finished second .hey that was a win for us lol ... i do know it wont be all black the next race ..i dont like painting cars this late in the season .but gotta do something different .thats the only thing we have not done to it yet ...lol . glad to see you made out this time ..the flames would really fit your car after last night ..go for it ..

Nice video Bryce. I was hoping to take a couple weeks off, but now I have 3 broken cars to fix. I always knew that the 71 was a good car. Ozzy, I'm glad you got the #22 Bobby Hill Special going for the main.

Hot Action at Thunderhill Raceway on Saturday night

The following race report was written in the new THR Press Room suite by J M Hallas (aka rebelracewriter). The story with coverage of other July 26 THR races was posted on TexasSpeedzone.com and forwarded to TPS by Debbie Williams, Thunderhill Raceway Public Relations Director. (Note: It was forwarded to all TPS members, officials and sponsors with car numbers added to the story by Neil Upchurch).

Kyle, TX (July 28, 2008)

The Texas Pro Sedan feature began with Mike Merrell's #70 grabbing the lead as the green flag waved. Merrell and several other front runners spun on lap 1 after fluid was laid on the track. Once back to green, Jesse Sandoval faded from second, giving way to #15 Tom Johnson, #26 Lalo Leal, #28 Lisa Sandoval and #22 Ozzy Osburn. Mike Knotts, in a borrowed #71 car, worked his way up to a top five spot by lap 5. Knotts then began to challenge Lisa Sandoval for fourth. Up front Lalo Leal caught Mike Merrell for the lead as they ran up into traffic. The two went three wide around a slower car, with Leal's #26 getting the point on lap 14. From there, Leal was able to pull away from the field and lap up to fourth on his way to the win.

Lalo:

Congratulations on your Texas Pro Sedans win last week.

Good luck on your annual racing trip to Florida on August 16. Suggest that you keep #26 in one piece for the next TPS race on August 30 and then the two final 2008 Texas Pro Sedans races with the largest purses in years.

Entry information will be out on August 31. Here is a "sneak peek" .........

September 27 - Thunderhill Raceway - $500 to win with a $3,630 field purse.

October 18 - Red Rive Speedway - $1,000 to win with a $6,100 field purse.
