Word has it that Mr. Hobbs has actually contacted Mr Wright and is to look at the speedway in a continuing effort to make the purchase.

rebelracewriter
I receive an update from Mr Hobbs every couple of weeks or so. In his last communication, he was supposed to meet face to face with Mr Wright concerning his efforts to purchase Saratoga Spwy. I have not gotten a reply yet as to the outcome of that meeting. Nick, didn't I send you his new E-mail? Was that the one you tried? supertx, I've tried to get more of my dirt friends involved on this site, but several, mainly those with webtv, cannot access the site and others have issues with the perceived censorship and continue to stay on whowon.com. NickHolt
Reb, others have issues with the perceived censorship and continue to stay on whowon.com That's OK. It's a good thing that there are sites available to meet the needs of those who wish to post in an un-moderated environment. And could you please send me Mr. Hobbs' email addy again? Jason
Woah! You might want to take a second and look around. Now tell me who's house are you in? Nick has helped me out a ton and guess what! He does it for free. If it wasn't for him this site would probably no longer exist. It would be just another bashing forums between racers and I would have taken it down LONG ago. No one is forcing you to post here. If you have a problem with it go somewhere else. rebelracewriter
BRH50, Actually it was two on webtv, the other just moved away. Webtv people aren't the only ones I've talked to not able to/have trouble getting on this site. And there are others, like yourself, that have their own issues. I never mentioned anyones names, nor am I defending the censorship that goes on here.
SuperStock23
I've seen the posts about Mr. Hobbs contacting the owner of Saratoga Speedway. Has anyone heard if the deal to purchase may be near completion? There are quite a few dirt racers here who hope we can have a well managed, well maintained, and well supported dirt track. Racer26
Check out I-37. They are making a lot of changes. The classes and payout will be a lot better. No need to set and wait on saratoga. Could never open again like Goliad.
supertx
What happened tp goliad did it finally close for good.? It was probally one of the pretitest tracks i've been to and was always fun to drive it was just in the wrong place to far from every where.I wish someone would put a track like that in the austin area
dancer52
As I understand, the guy who owns Goliad will not lease the track anymore. It will sit there until he sells it. I also wish they would put a good dirt track in the Austin area. We are currently racing with the TOBA series but it would be nice to have a track close to home. rebelracewriter
supertx, The TOBA series is the Texas Outlaw Bomber Association. The run a series of races at different tracks over the year. I know they have website, but don't know what it is. I'm sure AJ, or TOBA guy can get you more info. hray
A comment and a question! Goliad was probably one of the most fun tracks to race when Turner improved it and ran it. We used to pull 3 hrs to get there. After Turner left we went to asphalt because there just are no good tracks close enough. What is the deal with the San Antonio dirt track? We used to go there to watch (no car then) and I always thought the surface was one of the tackiest in TX. Actually, Goliad came pretty close. supertx
Hary the s.a. dirt track wentdown the tube with the same problem that's going on in the racing industry BAD MANGEMENT It's a shame these people spend all this money on race tracks and don;t have a clue on how to promote them
dancer52
supertx - The TOBA is a new traveling bomber series. This was it's first year. It has grown tremendously in the first year. We are having our Allstar race this Saturday @ Motorama speedway in Beaumont, TX. You can go to their web site at Texas Outlaw Bomber to get all the info you need. hray - Turner & Goliad? Yeah, he had the cars, but he was not a fair promotor. If you were any kind of competition for his cars, he would ban you.
