I don't know about yankee land but me and my son (remember Matthew?) are racing in Altus, Ok (they do act like yankees some come to think of it) and Wichita Falls. Last year I won the Spooker Nationals at Altus. Today is my 61st birthday. Guess that fever is still engaged. How are you doing?

Leroy is still driving a long haul truck. I speak with him once or twice a week. And about once a month, we have the conversation of him wanting to build another car, Arrgghhh! Anyhow, he is doing well, and Vicki and He have a place down near Floresville.

I am trying to find some of my old photo albums to post photo's of some of our cars.

Leroy Farmer is alive and well and driving an 18 wheeler to Florida. He called me this evening while on trucking down I-35.

He said he'd like to get out of the business of driving trucks and into a specialty custom auto repair and race car fabrication business in central Texas.

He also said he'd like to be part owner of Texas Pro Sedan during the 2008 season and have the son of a friend of his handle the wheel duties for him. The driver is young and an experienced late model driver.

That's what Leroy said tonight.

Leroy Farmer has called me twice in the past two weeks.

Here is Leroy's racing status as of April 23:

1. He and a partner have purchased an older tube frame chassis.

2. The chassis is currently being modified to Texas Pro Sedans specifications.

3. He will soon retire from driving an 18 wheeler.

4. He and his partner will concentrate on building another Texas Pro Sedan. It will be a Ford, using a 2300cc engine with an OEM head.

5. Leroy expects the car to be completed in time for the last third of the 2008 TPS season.

That is what Leroy told me as of now.

From looking at the cage and frame, they've got their work cut out for them, but, if anyone can pull it off, Leroy can. :o

Leroy made his third call to me on May 1 while driving his 18 wheeler truck near Bristol Tennessee. He said that his associates have completed the modifications to the chassis. He said the car is up on its own wheels.

Leroy asked for TPS's interpretation of three TPS technical specifications. He had already made the same rules interpretations himself, but wanted to hear my interpretation. He was pleased to read that TPS has been allowing a specified fabricated rear spoiler for the last two years.

Today, Leroy's wife submitted their e-mail address in order to receive TPS publication material. He understands that to secure his car number of choice, he is required to submit a TPS membership application and dues.

You now have the latest Leroy Farmer progress report.

I know Leroy Farmer raced in NASCAR Late Model Sportsman events at Meyer Spdwy/Houston in the late '60s/early '70s, and I would like to know for sure whether or not he also previously had raced in Bronco Stock Cars as well. I'm thinking he did.
