AMRacer89
anybody got the count on how many houses are parked on the old Pan-American Speedway? 4 per acre I thought it just became a huge parking lot. Maybe my dad didn't show me the right spot.
txtom
Pan American's track surface is still there, although it is rapidly decaying. The Gunn overflow lot is on top of the track parking lot. Walk around to the back fence, and you will be looking at the front stretch wall. And yes, there are houses within a 1/4 mile of it. Go to this link to see the track from a couple years ago. I took the pics Labor Day, 2005. Pan American 2005

Jay
One city kicks a track to the side, while another is on the virge of support of the construction of one in town. Lewisville has a track under construction at the end of East Main St. 3/8 mile variable banking. It might be a good time for them to consider making it a 1/2 mile. The state needs one. I was realy sorry to hear about the closing of SAS.
