‘Rally’ brings K-MAC Sports back to TMS for the weekend

(Leander, TX) – In a 24-hour period, K-MAC Sports Productions of Austin learned just how much the dirt racing community loves – and supports – its sport.

K-MAC Sports (www.kmacsports.com) announced in a news release yesterday it stepped back from its original plans of going to the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track this weekend to broadcast the Pro-Cuts Texas World Dirt Track Championships.

Just hours after the release was posted, co-owner Chuck Licata and announcer Bill “Sarge” Masom received phone calls and e-mails, requesting K-MAC Sports reconsider its decision to do the online broadcasts as originally scheduled.

“I received a call from Doug Rollo, then from Gregg Killingsworth (of Pflugerville Machine) asking us to rethink our position,” Licata stated. “K-MAC Sports originally pulled out because of our commitment to cover Cody Smith – who is running in the ASALMS Alamo 200 race in San Antonio – and to covering the Liberty Hill boys’ basketball team, which is playing in the Region III tournament in Huntsville (TX) this weekend. We were going to be spread a bit thin covering both events.”

Licata continued, “But Sarge (Masom) and I were so completely overwhelmed by the response we got from folks who not only wanted to hear the live broadcasts but who asked what they could do to help us that we realized we HAD to be there. We’ve brought in a couple of people – including veteran race journalist Christine Parks – to help us in our efforts. K-MAC Sports is new to the dirt racing community; we now realize just how much those folks love and support their racing.”

Licata and Masom will do the broadcast on Friday night, scheduled for a 6 p.m. Central time start. They will be joined by Bobby Chaffee for the Saturday broadcast, scheduled to start at 4 p.m. Central. Both broadcasts will be available at the company’s web site, kmacsports.com.

K-MAC Sports broadcasts high school football and baseball, TSRS Late Models races and has partnered with Orangebloods.com for its UT postgame show broadcasts. K-MAC Sports also broadcasts live from all major racing events at Texas Motor Speedway. All K-MAC Sports broadcasts are available for replay on the site at various times and dates.
