rebelracewriter
SPEEDWAY RENOVATIONS BEGIN: DIRT OVAL BECOMES 1/4 MILE Houston Raceway Parks “Speedway”, the finest and fastest high banked dirt track on the Gulf Coast, recently began construction before the start of an action packed 2007 racing season. The track was originally designed as a 3/8th’s mile oval, but to enhance the intense side by side racing action, the track is being formed into a ¼ mile “D shaped” oval. With over 5000 cubic yards of dirt moving into the infield and repositioning of the state-of-the-art Musco lighting system, the construction will take place over the next two weeks. Don’t miss the exciting action and most fan friendly Saturday nights at Houston’s newest track. Houston Raceway Park will host over 30 races highlighted with the return of the World of Outlaws March 16th, and the inauguration of the Romco Crate Late Model Series. See local stars battle under the lights every Saturday night March through November. HRP host fender to fender, wheel to wheel racing in four different classes: The Romco Crate Late Model Series, UMP Modified, Limited Modified, and Bombers. Tickets can be purchased through the race track by calling 281.383.RACE.
