if you are familiar with papy (Papyrus)products, you will know that they have been constrained to publishers deadlines and Corporate muscle in the past, while still producing the best sims available

they are no longer on anyone elses deadlines or expectations

in '89 they realeased the first true racing sim in Indy 500

in '98 they realeased what many consider the best sim ever in Grand Prix Legends

im sure your familiar with their Nascar Series

i have no doubt in my mind that iRacing will set the sim racing world on its ear once again with their new product :-)

whatever talk you hear it means zilch...nada

all i can say is, silence is golden :)

iracing is the new papy. David Kraemer (guy in charge @ Papyrus) and John Henry (owner of Boston Red Sox) have teamed up. Look for a cross between NR2003 and MCO. :)

They did piss a few people off a few months back but I think the product will be worth the price and everyone will be happy in the long run.

For something else: offline racing:

For anyone with NASCAR Total Team Control for PS2 and XBox and who want to try something different, check out my sim league. We race shadowing the real Nextel NASCAR series using our consoles offline and then sending in required data. The majority of the races this season are 12% races, but there are some 25% races and even a couple 50% races. Our website is www.thundercupracingleague.com and we are in our fifth season. With over 80 registered drivers this season, it appears that 2006 will be the biggest and best to date. If you are interested in trying out something different and interesting, feel free to give me a holler. If you want to join after checking out the website, email me your full name, age, hometown and state, email addy, IM screenname(s) and favorite driver and I will add you to the league roster and mailing list. I will then email you the 2006 rules package, up-to-date roster, and any other league related emails as they unfold. Hope to hear from many of you about TCRL. God bless you. BOB Clark

I went to the website posted up top.

I signed up.

I'm not sure about the software though.

They didn't have a whole lot of info on the site other than whats to come.

Is that the deal......isn't ready yet??

If anyone knows about the software, I'd like to get it.

Thanks

Looks exciting either way......

I've never raced on any platform other than PS2/XBOX

I hope my PC is strong enough to keep up.(probably is)

I've got a logitech steering wheel w/900 degrees of steering and force feedback....Is that sufficient, or should I look for something better??

What did/do you guys race with??

Thanks
