Umscheid Race Services Live, Interactive Updates from THR’s Texas Stock Car Spectacular, 9/22/2012

September 20, 2012

The Stock Car Spectacular is the biggest race of the season for Thunderhill Raceway, and without a doubt, you will want to be at the track this weekend for all the stock car racing excitement at the 3/8-mile, d-shaped oval in Kyle, Texas.

The Spectacular is actually a three-day affair with practice on Thursday, qualifying and Main Events for the Grand Stocks, Royal Purple NasKart Pro Racing Series and the Mini Stocks on Friday with two-lap qualifying for the SportMods, Thunder Stocks, A-Line Super Stocks, NASCAR Trucks, NASCAR TSRS Late Models and the NASCAR A-Line Modifieds who will race in Saturday.

But if you can’t make it to the track this weekend, join Lone Star Speedzone’s Nick Holt for the Umscheid Race Services Live, Interactive Updates this Saturday beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Feel free to ask questions and make comments during the blogcast although there will more than likely be a delay between the time you post and the time the post shows up in the dialogue box. That’s because I have to approve all posts and sometimes I get very busy keeping up with the action.

Umscheid Race Services Live, Interactive Updates from Thunderhill Raceway, 9/8/2012

September 6, 2012

I will be at Thunderhill Raceway this Saturday evening, September 8, to bring you the Umscheid Race Services Live, Interactive Updates from the tight 3/8-mile paved oval in Kyle, Texas.

As the season starts to wind down, the drivers will be doing whatever it takes to move up the point standings as the championship battles heat up.

Nothing takes the place of being at the track in person, but if you just can’t get to the track, I will try to bring you lap-by-lap coverage of the entire racing program. I plan on firing up the blogging software around 6:00 p.m.

You will be able to make comments and ask questions during the blogcast, but there will be a delay between the time you post and the time it actually shows up in the dialogue box. That’s because I have to approve all posts and sometimes I get too busy trying to keep up with all the on-track action to handle the comments in a timely manner.

Umschied Race Services Live, Interactive Updates from Houston Motorsports Park, 5/26/2012

May 23, 2012

Lone Star Speedzone’s Nick Holt will be at Houston Motorsports Park to bring you Live, Interactive Updates during the “Fiesta’s Spring Shootout” from the 3/8-mile paved/concrete oval.

This is definitely a breakout year for HMP with full fields of NASCAR Fiesta Modifieds and NASCAR BWFS 360 Motorsports Trucks, the two top classes competing at the Northwest Houston speedplant. With $5 tickets available at Fiesta Marts and with $1 beer, $1 cokes and $1 hot dogs, the grandstands are full with excited stock car racing fans. You will want to be at the track this Saturday evening if at all possible.

But if you just can’t make it out, check out my live updates as I do my best to bring you lap-by-lap coverage of the entire racing program.

During the blogcast readers are able to make comments and ask questions as we go along, but sometimes I get pretty busy so at times there will be a delay in seeing your posts.

TXHighDef Video of NASCAR Fiesta Modified feature from HMP’s Fiesta Speedfest, 4/7/12

April 9, 2012

This video by Duke O’Connor of TX High Def captures lots of hard-nosed asphalt NASCAR Fiesta Modified racing action. And also captures the unfortunate incident that took out two front-runners - Brad Queen and Heath Stewart early in the 100-lap event.

April 4, 2012

Fiesta’s Speedfest presented by Cricket Wireless is arguably Houston Motorsports Park’s biggest event of the year and you don’t want to miss it. A huge 100-lap event for the fie-breathing NASCAR Fiesta Modifieds, 75 laps for the exciting NASCAR BWFS 360 Trucks and a 50-lapper for the fender-bending NASCAR Stock Cars will highlight the action-packed Saturday show. Also on tap are the wild Eco Stocks and Bandoleros.

If you can’t make it to the track, plan on joining me for the Umscheid Race Services Live, Interactive Updates. I should be firing up the CoverItLive blogging software around 5 p.m. on Saturday.

During the evening you will be able to ask questions and make comments as I bring you lap-by-lap coverage from the park-like 3/8-mile oval.

Umscheid Race Services Live, Interactive Updates from Houston Motorsports Park, 8/20/2011

August 19, 2011

My flight doesn’t arrive in San Antonio until 4:10 p.m. and it’s a good three-hour and 45-minutes drive to HMP once I get to the house to pick up the car, but I plan to make the trip and bring you the feature events from Houston Motorsports Park thanks to Umscheid Race Services.

If I’m a bit late, well, please forgive me, but I’ll do my best to get there. Let’s hope my flights are not delayed.

{Well, my flight was delayed and I couldn’t get to HMP in time to bring you the updates. I’m very sorry for the letdown, but it couldn’t be avoided. — Nick}
