  1. Yes, the epidemic is spreading! I am half tempted to build a sprint racer even though there's no where to play anymore, maybe an old county dirt road would work! If I could find a front and rear suspension I have a friend that could build me an aluminum body................ Lon
  2. Some of you may find this site and thread interesting, many pages & pic's....... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=236178
  3. While scrounging for parts I came across this little collection I thought I would share with you. Will keep the owner and location quiet for now but will send him your web site and maybe he will chime in. Enjoy!
  4. I feel like a party crasher but I am getting a late start in Quarter Midget's with this late '50z Wohlborg. I have just found the rite Continental AU 7R and now have all the Hands Eng. wheels so it's time to start the resto. Will post pic's as I go if there is any interest! Hardest part will be picking the color combo! Thanks, Lon
  5. I have been following along with you but silent till I could find my last set of Hands wheels so I could start the resto. great pic above that had to be a nice moment for all! I found a Continental AU-85, wonder how close that is to an AU-7R? Done anything with the body sent?
  6. Randy, I am on the hunt for a Continental motor for my '57? Walhborg, do you have any pic's, model #ber's or serial #ber's? have all the parts except the motor and will be posting pic's of the start of the resto tomorrow. Thanks, Lon
  7. I am surprised the Wahlborgs above didn't come with rollbars.................... Lon
  8. I will have a spare 5" only if I get the 2 from the e-bay guy. Remember he bid on them but didn't really care what they were as he builds skooters and can use anything. He said we can probably work a deal on them. I did however find two more 6" rears tonight. They are kinda ruff but should clean up allrite in the lathe, glass bead than polish or paint. Have you ever seen what they can do to old aluminum carb body's? They dip them in something that makes them look like new with the gold anodized look, thinking of doing that instead of paint. Anyway I am sitting on four Hands 6" rears and one Hands 5" till the guy on e-bay comes threw than I will have a spare 5". Also foud a copy of the '58 Hot Rod mag with all the Midget's on the cover. Keep the old pic's coming! Lon
  9. Hope I am not counting my chickens before they hatch but just got off the phone with the e-bay Hands Eng. Wheels guy, Dave, and he said he bought them just because they were 5" and aluminum. Maker didn't matter to him as he builds 2 wheel scooters and can use most any brand. Anyway he said once he gets them in his hands he will get ahold of me about them and hopefully strike a deal for them. It's that last piece of the puzzle I need to start resto of the Wahlborg. I told him I would put out feelers for 580 & 820 Westbend motors that he uses in his scooters so if you have any leads I will pass that on to him. Here's a pic of his wheels, if this works out I will have a spare front incase someone wants to start pouring copies! Lon
  10. Randy, A friend and his wife went garage sailing today and she spotted these Hands Engineering Wheels and remembered the one on my Wahlborg Midget front! What a gal! Gotta love the recaps! Yep, just need one more front. Missed a couple on e-bay today, have e-mailed the guy hopeing he will sell one or the pair, no word yet. Lon
  11. Randy and others, I am on the hunt for atleast one more wheel like this one OR better yet a full matching set of 4. Can anyone ID this wheel so I know what I am looking for? Thanks, Lon
  12. Is their a web site dedicated to the Vintage Quarter Midget's or is this the place? Have some pick's of the Wahlborg and parts that I am looking for, would like to put out feelers but don't know where to start. Thanks, Lon
