....uhhhhh....
A Texas Thunder will win in the Texas Thunder Class,
A Pure stock will win in the Pure Stock Class, and
A SS will win in the SS Class....

DOH! huh.gif

LOL!
slysnake
...betting the farm....
(if I had one!)
wink.gif
MadRacing19
Betting the farm? HUH I would think someone who raced a "rabbit truck" would have a farm to work in the off season.I though you had a little plow you pulled with the truck!

SS Track champ-#29 Whitstine
slysnake
LMAO!! Ouch! that hurt!
...and by the way, it's a WAGON, not a plow!!! biggrin.gif
neon14
I'm betting a fwd will win the Thunder class. Neon, rabbit, honda, farm truck, I dont know only time will tell.
mustang21
not me i thank it will be a mustang lol yall going to have to watch out for bobby he got new car and bad a$$ motor ........
mustang21
but there is a neon down the street form me that sounds awsome i thank he has a good chance to
poorboy
I thought the Texas Thunders used stock motors, how is Bobby's bad a$$.
poorboy
Never mind ,I just looked at the rules.
Motors are wide open.
thumper
Thats why theres a claim rule.If someone overshadows the rest of the field, chances are they will be claimed.Hey,now I know what to do with the extra car !!!!!!!!!LOL
mustang21
Yep thats why we have five mustangs for this year.. May end up with a couple of others to .....LOL

Claim rule. That rule needs to changes to about $5000. because it takes more than that to keep up with a couple of cars out there ...
Crewcheif21,73
I would just can the rule. I think it stupid to let someone have the chance to take what you work to have.
MadRacing19
With all the money going into the TT motors it seems alittle crazy! For what you win in the mini class and the amount going into the motors why don't some of you guys run SS ? You can have just as much fun and spend less and win more. JMO.
MadRacing19
Rick, If you moved up to SS then you could put your MiniTruck back to work on your "Ranchette". Pulling the little plow, little trailer and feed the Miniture horses.
thumper
I have about 2500 $ in my whole car.I would love to race SS but my wallet cant do it.You Corpus guys are very lucky to have the best track going in your own back yard.I wanted to trade in my car to Chris but he cant use it where hes going.I bought a lottery ticket today so theres a chance for the SS.I dont even know if I could drive one.Maybe someday.
slysnake
LMAO!
Yeah Sam,
That's a possibility...maybe next year...sell out and start in SS...
you gonna help??
cool.gif
MadRacing19
Rick I Might help you find the infield . Besides my car is a real turd.I am lucky it even turns left .GB Then you have less money in your car then half the thunder class. Maybe they should look to you for lessons on how to go fast cheap. EJ broke the bank on that mustang. Could have had 2 superstreet cars for what those guys spent all year .
thumper
Im guessing that the 14 car doesnt have much more cash invested in his car than I do.With a 16 valve injected Mitsubushi engine he doesnt need to spend much on an engine and has good power.Likewise for the 46 car with the Integra twin cam engine in the CRX.Mostly its about the best combinations.I bet the BMW will be very fast also.I dont think we have seen the absolute best Thunder Cars yet because there are many cars not tried yet.Like a 240 SX Nissan with an injected 2.4 engine rear wheel drive or a Mitsubushi Eclipse with a 2.4 injected engine front wheel drive.Or an Accord with a V Tec twin cam.And as already proven, the Fords are the top power makers although they are costly. How about a Ford Focus with a 2.0? We are at the dawn of a whole new defination of 4 cyl race cars and in a couple of years carburated cars will be dinasuars.( how about a rabbit with a twin cam 20 valve 2.0 injected engine ? )How about it Will ? You are the pioneer of injected cars, how many thousands of dollars did you spend and you are 1/1000 th with me on the clock. You can build a fast Thunder on a tight budget if you do your homework. And remember the handeling is more important than horsepower although its nice to have both when possible.Boy I wish this winter would end,I am about to go nuts!!!!Hope to see you all soon. THUMPER
Crewcheif21,73
Gotta spend to win. Everyone knows that.
neon14
We spent about $3500 on my boss's neon, with all new parts. I spent a tad bit more than that on mine, but not much more. I would be willing to bet that one could build a neon or any other modern car for about $2000 or even cheaper if they had some parts laying around, seat, belts, fuel cell and stuff. The Texas Thunder class is very economical to race. $2500 to $3500 and you have a fast brand new car, the cars small and easy to work on. My vote on the absolute best thunder car would be the new mini cooper, but it will probably be along time before you could buy one for cheap. Neons are cool because they are every where, people are practically giving them away. I think a twin cam 20 valve rabbit it would be all over with, we would never catch that wabbit. LOL Fuel injected cars are the way to go in my opinion, you cant over rev the motor, you dont have to mess with timing, dont even have to pump the gas pedal to start the car. You just start it and go race. You have to run an alternator, I have not put a battery charger on that car ever. In the pits people always ask me if they can borrow a timing light. What's that I say,I dont even have a distributer! The Texas Thunder class is a funny class, you can spend a little bit of money or a whole bunch of money. But your still going to be chasin that Wabbit!
Will
Crewcheif21,73
Will dont lie you have more than 3500 invested tell the truth. Will has about 7 or 8000 invested in that neon. Its the only way he can keep up with the MUSTANG lol hahaha.
Crazyhorse
street stocks-either my buddy shrimp,or one of these luchers
neon14
You all did spend about a hundred grand on that mustang last year? HaHa! The car ran and sounded like a hundred grand anyway.
mustang21
No thanks to H&H IRON METAL CO. our sponcer that car ran and sounded that good ..lol
top dog
WHATS UP STROKER HOPE YOU DO GOOD SUP. STREET . "P.S. NEED STRUT"
slysnake
No thanks Sam,
I already know where the infield is and all four walls! Wish I had seen the infield alot more this past year!!
Flyin34
I'd have to disagree with you crewchief. You'd be surprised. Not in Corpus you don't. Other tracks, yeah, i'd say so. I've seen some real turds fly around that track in my lifetime. It's all in the homework.
Crewcheif21,73
I know what you meen but in TT its a bit diff. If you wanna win, you have to have a good set up and a fast enough car to keep you around the wabbit. If you slow sorry but your not gona beat him unless he gets takin out or has a flat
thumper
I thought it would be intresting to remember 5 years ago.Same discussion, different players. So did we evolve to more of the modern FWD injected AND inexpensive cars??? NO.We made several rule changes to protect the overpriced cars and eliminate what promised to be new territory. This is what self governing does.Changing management every year is how it was possible.

I guess we are better off now??? You decide. The Fords got what they wanted, most FWD cars are gone.No,wait.They started their own class like many people suggested and are running at most tracks. So now we have a FWD class that races everywhere and a Ford class at CC Speedway.Apples and oranges.
neon14
I Won!
thumper
Not by todays rules. ph34r.gif
neon14
That was a fun year. I think we had 24 cars a few times. Seem to remember payout being 300 bucks if we had 18 or 20 cars. I still have one of my motors sitting in the garage up here and the smashed fenders from that wreck at the dirt track hanging on the wall. Sometimes I look at them it brings back memories.

There were quite a few winners that year. I think 8 or 10 different people won features.
thumper
I think you and EJ won the bigger purses,I never did.It was fun with the different makes running.

Just watched the ministock vedio from Thunderhill and it reminded me of those times.
sam71
super street sale cheap 2000 rolling chassis
neon14
Now that I think about it I think EJ was running super streets in 2005. He had a good year. Won a few races and finished high in the points. Tim, EJ's brother was running with us that year. He had a fast car.
BJ34
I think you are right Will Ej was in the super street and Tim had the thunder the next year they both ran thunders on the dirt
slysnake
I think we should have a reunion...a 2005 TT racer reunion....LOL...how is everyone?
neon14
Hey Rick, we should get together sometime. We had some fun times in the ghetto after the races. Lots of beer consumed, and wine, and cigars smoked, and stories told. Good times.

Do you remember how the getto got started????

I was the first to use that back lot because Owen told me all the parking spaces were for sale.I am not going to pay for a parking spot in a pit.He pointed to the back lot and said that was the free parking. It did become rather popular as a great party place for after the races. You guys named it.I called it the cheep place.
neon14
I remember that now. I guess I wound up back there because I was cheap also. Todd and BJ were about as cheap as you can get lol. Dad liked it back there because there wasn't all that dust from cars driving by. I seem to recall a fire back there one night and somebody drove a car through it or something. I think Rick was involved.
slysnake
Just cause there was fire involved doesn't mean I was...(unless my cigar lit something up!)
slysnake
I'll be down the 16-19th of September for dove hunting....GB, are you racing that weekend? Might have to drop by and watch
thumper
Rick, you need to bring that farm truck with you and plow your way through the competetion.Thats the best way to sell it, show it. Do you remember one end of year championship race when the 3 top finishers were all VWs ? You,me and Pete.

I hear "pinky" is still waiting for ya...
