Full Version: Interest in going to stock car spectacular
Lone Star Speedzone Forums > Texas Autoracing Discussions > Corpus Christi Speedway
race45
I have sent Mary Ann at Kyle an email to discuss rules if we were to run there for the spectacular. Doug and myself are very interested in going and we hear others might be also. I decided to discuss this on the web board so others can see exactly what was discussed and any answers. I hope this will ensure less confusion.

Im interested in going ,so is david moore....I would like some more info.....And i would like our points posted........lol
abrungot
What class do you run at CC?
j.j.&s.racing
clare,we ran there last year we just talked to jack we run our rules, our tires.come run with us this week.we need the cars yall heard about the thunders.620 overall at kyle we run super stocks.
Truck99
I think both run Super Streets. John Henry ran last year with his car and was very fast before he ran into some mechanical problems. I think the CC cars have some slight advantages over the THR Super Stocks, but it shouldn't be anything that couldn't be overcome with a minor weight adjustment.
j.j.&s.racing
hey,hey chase i weight to much now lol!!!!we will be there as long as nothing goes wrong.
race45
that is what I thought about the rules just wanted to get it out so others would know john or stephen. I really don't think we need to change anything at all. Kyle drivers have more experience at that track so corpus drivers need everything we can get. Ha Ha. Besides I weigh to much also LOL.
Flyin34
If they are letting us run our tires, I would be interested in going up there too.
railer
Ill need a 150 2nd trans I will like to go,, it would be different, and if all of us go I thank we could park together. John would know more about what to do there
race45
Ya greg that is the only way I am going also. If you have to buy tires and such it isn't worth it to go. That would be too much money for me and I am sure many more. Thanks J J and S for the gear ratio I figured a 1.50 tranny with a 4.10 rear works out to 6.15 close enough for me.
Clare

Just spend the money doug and get one.

railer

hooliganz
I'll be there 4 sure, hell i'll have bbq also
race45
no mufflers are required not recommended last I knew and they checked with a sound meter last time i was there in the modified.

I just emailed Jack ,the head tech guy, and asked him to chime in when he had time to answer everybodies questions about things. I noted Neck restraints, mufflers and tires as items already up for discussion. John already got an answer about the tires and such, but if jack replies here everyone has the same info. And yes as of this moment I plan to be at CC saturday John. Cary you are correct so far everyone on this discussion is superstreet in CC and would run super stocks at Kyle. as John stated.

Mel

j.j.&s.racing
ya clare this is john henry,we have to meet there safety stuff like most of us allready do,you need a scanner with ear piece.last year they teched us by our rules.615 over all pretty close.they are on either 620or even 633.we ran 626 last year.they are on ford 9'' we are going with a a little differant this year.with a bunch of cars going it alt to be cool.
termite#99

They used to have a decibal rule so I guess that is where the mufflers come in.Are they somewhat lenient on that or what?
Mel
I know THR would love to have the CC cars down at the spectacular. What a race that would be. Kyle does have a decible rule and yes things have been less tense with the neighbors about the noise but, please make an attempt to reduce the noise. I believe the THR tech crew will work with you.

Here is a link to some inexpensive racing mufflers.

http://www.daymotorsports.com/product/294/...RACING-MUFFLERS

and another:

I know THR doesn't want to send anyone away that wants to race so please make an attempt to reduce the noise.

Thanks,
Mel Krauss

P.S. Any chance on CC Speedway having a similar race?

I am the techman at CC Speedway, and Im sure Dan wouldnt have a problem with the THR cars coming down on the hoosiers and racing with us! I know I for one welcome anyone interested in racing at CC Speedway to come down and race.
sportsmod
sure hope so. hope most of the thr cars will come down
ebco2468

Any scanner will work. The track frequency is posted on the website I believe.
j.j.&s.racing
dont guess im going to get to go i just looked at the date of the spectacular and its on a regular racing night for c.c.speedway.it used to be in oct.
Flyin34
I think it would be in Dan's best interest to work with Thunderhill on that night and try to set up a two race series between the tracks. It would be best for both tracks in my opinion.

Jack announced in the meeting this Saturday night, CC Front Runners are invited to run with the THR mini-stocks. You must comply with the CC rules you normally run. This applies to the CC Street Stock/THR Super Stocks, and I believe the CC Bombers/THR Thunderstocks.

So , who is all going ? who is almost ready?
race45
Well I was one of the people who started this discussion about going and now find myself unable to attend. A few weeks ago we thought we had blown a head gasket at cc speedway. The machine shop tested and redid my heads and I got them back a few days ago. Last night while warming the engine to reset the valves the engine again started to overheat. Upon removing number 7 plug we discovered water again where we didn't want it, in the combustion chamber. We are not getting water into the oil but bubbles are showing up in the radiator, so the problem must be on the top of the cylinder bore. This engine had a sleeve installed previously in that cylinder and the machine shop says they only seen two of them leak in 35 years so i quess I 'm just unlucky this time. My job requires me to be out of town for the next two weeks so no time to repair. Any corpus racer that needs to borrow something to make this race please feel free to contact me as soon as possible. I will be at cc tonight so just come ask. thanks to doug and many other for their help so far in this problem
