A question was raised at David's site..What exactly are the duties of a Car Chief?? Anyone Know??

I believe they do a little bit of everything and are directly under the Crew Chief... I think. I know they work with the Crew Chief quite a bit. They probably help setup the car (or truck) and just do what needs to be done on the car.

You got it right.

The car chief is the person who works closely with the crew chief in figuring out setups for the car, but is the actual guy who makes sure it gets done. That allows the crew chief more time to work on a computer or look through notes to figure out better setups.

Also..it was brought up that Carl Long, who had that "spectacular" crash, is actually a member of the Spears Manufacturing truck team..he is the truck chief....
