LSSZ Live Updates from Houston Motorsports Park presented by Central Texas Speedway, 3/16/2013

March 13, 2013

Lone Star Speedzone’s Nick Holt will be at Houston Motorsports Park this Saturday evening to bring you the LSSZ Live, Interactive Updates presented by Central Texas Speedway. Nick will fire up the blogging software around 5:30 p.m.

The racing two weeks ago at the immaculate 3/8-mile paved/concrete oval was intense and is expected to be even more intense this week as there are rumors of a few “paybacks” in store for a couple of the more aggressive drivers. You will want to be there in person for sure, but if you just can’t make it to the track, join me for the live updates. I will do our best to bring you all the racing action but nothing takes the place of being there in person.

You will be able to make comments and ask questions during the blog, but please be patient if you don’t see your post right away.

Umscheid Race Services Live, Interactive Updates from Houston Motorsports Park, 10/27/2012

October 25, 2012

The final NASCAR Stock Car event of the season at Houston Motorsports Park - the “Herbert Financial NASCAR Night” - is set for this Saturday, October 27, 2012. The NASCAR Fiesta Modifieds will again be on 10-inch slicks and the bounty on NASCAR Stock Car driver David Webster is still unclaimed. This should produce some of the most intense racing of the season.

I will be on hand to bring you all the racing action via the Umscheid Race Services Live, Interactive Updates and will be firing up the blogging software around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.

You will be able to make comments and ask questions during the blogcast, but keep in mind that your post probably will not show up right away, if at all. I have to approve all posts and most of the time I am pretty busy trying to keep up with the events as they happen. I do my best to read and post comments and questions, but sometimes I just fall behind…

Thanks to a group of dedicated volunteers and Unique Track Solutions, the mighty paved half-mile is coming back to life - at least for this OctoberFast event and, hopefully, for many years to come.

You will want to be at the track for this historic event, but if you’re in Iraq or New York or someplace far, far away, please join me as I do my best to keep you updated.

Umscheid Race Services Live, Interactive Updates from Houston Motorsports Park, 10/13/2012

October 10, 2012

The already-quick NASCAR Fiesta Modifieds will be on 10-inch slicks this weekend at Houston Motorsports Park which should make them even faster than on the 8-inch treaded tires they normally run. It will be interesting to see how much quicker they will be as they compete in their heat races and an extra-length 75-lap feature.

I will be at the super-quick, 3/8-mile asphalt/concrete oval this Saturday to bring you the Umscheid Race Services Live, Interactive Updates if you can’t make it out to the track. There’s really no reason not to be there in person since the tickets are only $5 if purchased at Fiesta Mart and beer, hot dogs and cokes are only $1. The racing action starts at 6 pm, so I will fire up the blogging software around 5:30 pm.

Double features for the NASCAR BWFS 360 Trucks, NASCAR Stock Cars and Eco Stocks are on tap as well as the first appearance of the season by the crowd-pleasing Dwarf Cars that will be running heats and a 20-lap feature. And don’t forget that the $1000 Bounty Bonus offered to anyone who can beat NASCAR Stock Car driver David Webster “fair and square” is still in effect and Nathan Demski claims he is going to win that Bonus this Saturday.

During the updates you will be able to make comments and ask questions, but expect a delay in seeing your post since I have to approve all comments before they become visible to the rest.

Umschied Race Services Live, Interactive Updates from Houston Motorsports Park, 9/29/2012

September 27, 2012

If the weather cooperates, I will be at Houston Motorsports Park this Saturday, September 29, 2012, to bring you the Umscheid Race Services Live, Interactive Updates from the well-managed, NASCAR-sanctioned 3/8-mile oval. I will be launching the live, interactive blogcast around 5:30 pm if you can’t make it out to the track.

The stock car racing this season has been exceptional at Houston Motorsports Park with great car counts and packed grandstands. With $1 beer, $1 hot dogs and $1 cokes folks can’t go wrong and plan on being at the track every race night. You should too.

The crowd-pleasing double-feature format will again be in effect this week and the Bounty Bonus offered to anyone who can beat NASCAR Stock Car driver David Webster “fair and square” is $1000 plus regular purse money - for a potential of $1600.

During the updates you will be able to make comments and ask questions, but expect a delay in seeing your post since I have to approve all comments before they become visible to the rest.
